In short: Definitely nothing left in the legs at the end of this. Great fun. Lots of lovely muddy puddles to splash through this year too. Excellent. And thanks for the water bottle too, v useful.

In short: Lived up to expectations. Lovely race
In full: Visiting my home town from my exile in Kent thought I'd give this a go and thoroughly enjoyed it . Lovely race and the down hill gallop at the end was truly exhilerating. Well worth the uphill slog - which was great anyway cos of the views. V nice glass for memento too ... And, of corse, the bottle of wine! Will try to be back.

In short: If any race could convert me from my determination never to do another marathon this wlould be it
In full: I was massively impressed by the efficiency and good humour of the marshalls at the busy road crossings. I don't know how you did it, but it worked. Loads of water stations also brilliantly manned. Can't think of a single bad thing. The bag drop queue also went down so fast you nearly had to jog to keep up. And I finished well under my four hour target! V happy with that for a marathon farewell run. Thanks loads to all involved.

In short: It was advertised as hilly. No one said you needed crampons
In full: Excellent fun. Really enjoyed this helped by getting a pair of " run tested" trail shoes for £15 at the stall in the clubhouse before the race - can't imagine i'd've managed without them.
Excellent marshalling; lots of them and all cheerful and encouraging.
Really good touch having a cotton, reusable goody bag. Cant fault this race
Was disappointing to see some runners discarding water bottles having been asked not to. No excuse for this, there were plenty of marshals and bins along the way.

In short: Always love this race
In full: Excellent organisation and marhalls as always and the extra water station organised at the last minute in the heat was very welcome. Lovely place to run even though it doesn't have a single flat bit. The end is great - lovely downhill stretch with lovely view with just a tiny little uphilly bit at the end. The charity-collecting free massage was a great extra - much better than a medal and the shoe bag is always useful.

In short: commercial and shouldn't be grand prix
In full: Only ran this because its in the Kent GrandPrix this year.
Was unimpressed by the positioning of the pacers - I thought I had put myself at about the right place at the start to aim for about 47/48mins... a few hundred people back from the start. But the pacers were all in front of me which meant that I had to get through blocks of people running with the 65, 60 and 55 minute pacers. Fine if its a fun run and not actually a huge problem for me really not being superspeedy, but must have been irritating for faster club racers who could not get to the start because of the crowds of runners getting near their pacers. Also the race kind of just started, there didn't seem to be any kind of countdown, I thought we were moving towards the start where in actual fact we had started... The organisation at the start let down all the really good marshalls, water station people and the excellent help desk staff.

In short: Exhilarating
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed running this - wouldn't have wanted to run a longer race under these conditions but that was a great way to wake up properly on a Sunday morning! The rain driven by that headwind was a bit sharp but must have been far worse for the marshalls just standing around in gales and rain, but they were without exception cheerful and very encouraging. Thanks for a great morning!

In short: excellent race, thank you
In full: goodie bag had stuff really needed at end of the race... good drink, crisps - excellent thing to have - and a couple of energy bars - the finishing touch to a well organised
race.
