In short: Uplifting, helped by the sparkling weather In full: Brilliant scenery, great but very challenging course with three major hill climbs. Good variety, sandy trails, woodland paths. open countryside. Wouldn't have been so much fun in the wet and wind, but then what is. Well worth getting up early for the ridiculous early start of 8.30 Date of review: January 14, 2012

In short: Really well run, delivered all it promised. Brilliant venue, great people. In full: Organisation was the best I have been to. Stewards were great and friendly. Dry weather made the course VERY firm but there you go. Course well marked out and a very pleasant run, apart from the last hill to the finish!! The only glitch all day was the lady running the bouncy castle who rudely told my grandson he wasn't allowed on because it was closed. She spoilt his day but we had a great family time, picnic by the lake, playground etc. Date of review: May 15, 2011

In short: Great effort by the organisers in difficult conditions In full: Due to appalling weather the week before they had to rejig all the courses. They did a wonderful job on the 10k, including getting a whole herd of cows to churn up the mud(?) so that some of the course was fetlock deep in the brown stuff. Wonderful scenery and really good fun. Thanks a lot guys. Date of review: April 4, 2010

In short: Great race abd atmosphere, would do it again but for one thing - the car parking! 2.5 hours sitting in the car to get out of the car park, while the morons in charge did nothing completely spoiled the day. In full: Really well organised, great atmosphere, friendly people and for once good weather. What more could one ask - well one thing actually. The ability to go home. It took over 2.5 hours just to get out of the car park because nobody organised it or did anything about it. I really want to do it again next year but I doubt if I will because sitting in the car, stiff and tired and hungry, with a long journey to make, for over two hours just completely spoils the day. And it is unnecessary, just some forethought and organisation and a steady but slow stream of cars could be released westwards within an hour of the start. then thins wouldn't gum up and fights wouldn't break out. What a shame - it spoiled the day. Date of review: October 26, 2009

In short: Great location, fabulous marshalls, friendly peopoe and a great course. What more do I want. In full: A really well run race over challenging terrain. Well done the marshals, they were great and encouraging. Last two hills are killers, but we knew that. Starting from the school was great too - thanks to all involved. Date of review: March 10, 2009

In short: well organised, good course, all you need except for the morons on the carparking In full: They really have got the organisation sussed and everything went well. Good support from the locals. The big problem was the so called professionals running the carpark. So slow getting you in, not nearly enough people taking the money I nearly missed the start despite being there by 9.00. Going out they completely lost the plot, arguing amongst themselves and gumming everything up solid for over an hour. It took the police to sort it out. They really must crack this.
