In short: An enjoyable run but so damn hot!
In full: I didn't realise just how far away this race was from my home town but the race made it all the worthwhile.

A very well organised run that ran like clockwork and I am so glad that you decided to add another drink station as it was incredibly hot for me dressed as Spiderman.

The last 4K was pretty tough going but it definately has potential of being very fast. A lovely medal to boot.

Cheers Deal for a great morning.

In short: A pretty good race
In full: This was the first time i had run Dartford and I was concerned with the start time being so early but I am glad it started at 9. It would have been very hot otherwise!

It was a very well organised race and the run itself had a bit of everything. Hills, flat, a bridge and plenty of drinks stations. The marshalls were superb and very friendly and I enjoyed the finish of running round the track.

Loved the T-Shirt as a memento, my only slight complaint was the parking but there's not alot you can do about that and I didn't have to wait for that long.

In short: An enjoyable 10K
In full: Thank you Orpington Runners for a very well organised race. I thoroughly enjoyed it out there today even though I was dressed as Spiderman. The marshalls and crowd were superb and made the difficult parts whistle by.

I would definately recommend this to someone who is looking for a challenging 10K and am hoping to return next year but hopefully without the fancy dress!

Cheers everybody and I also had a lovely burger too so well done to the burger people.

In short: I'm loving the Essex runs
In full: After pretty much running most big races in the South East since March, I would like to commend Southend and Essex for putting on a fantastic race.

Running as Spiderman can prove difficult but today it was made a pleasure. The crowd were magnificent and really pushed me on to my PB (1hr 32 mins) in the suit that i'm loving to hate! Plenty of water stations and sponges helped a lot.

This race was super quick and I enjoyed the two lap route because I tried to beat my time on the second lap. My only problem is that I smashed my nuts on a bollard after half a mile but that was my fault cos I didn't see it.

Cheers Southend, I will be back next year no doubt and quicker.

In short: I dreamt of tarmac!
In full: I'd like to think there are no races that are tougher than this! What a ripper!

A lovely start but then the Downs happened. The scenery was magnificent but couldn't appreciate it too much as I was delirious! The crowd were top class though and really pulled me through the tough times as well as the other runners who were all very friendly.

The marshalls were very friendly and was so pleased to see plenty of water stations.

Well done Seaford, i know I had a race today. I really enjoyed it apart from falling over and stinging my face on some nettles. Oh well. Cheers from Spiderman

In short: Holy Crap!!!!
In full: Being from Hastings and running the Hastings Half 7 times I thought I could run anything confidently and with no worries. How wrong was I? The Canterbury Half is one tough cookie! It felt like I was continually running up hill but what a run! If you're suicidal like me then you would love this challenge and it was made more difficult because I was wearing a Spiderman costume! I would like to give a special mention to the hill at about 10 miles. I've never known anything like it! It defies gravity! This is definately not a race to get a PB.

Still the crowd when they were there were magnificent and spurred me on as did all the other runners. It really did seem to be a friendly race. When I regained consciousness after finishing I treated myself to a lovely new pair of trainers and a bacon butty so well done to you organisers.

I went home a well fed, slightly worse off and completely knackered man who slept for pretty much the majority of the day. Will I be back next year though? Who knows!!!

In short: A superbly organised race which will drag me back kicking & screaming next year
In full: Coming from Hastings it is a long way to come for this race being the first time i've run a 10 miler, the first time i've ran in Essex and the first time i've run in Great Baddow but it will not be the last! I've done a few runs recently and this is the first race in a while that seemed to have a proper friendly atmosphere. The crowd were amazing, the course was challenging but not so challenging I didn't hit the time I wanted, the warm up was great fun and for once I wasn't the only fancy dress runner there! (I was Spiderman and thanks Scooby Doo!) There was plenty to do for my friend and his kids who were watching me run so I cannot ask anymore. I hope this run grows in popularity because it deserves too. Thank you for an incredible hour and 10 minutes! See you next year

In short: Loved the venue and the route but a very tough 10k
In full: What an excellent day I had, being the only fancy dress runner there I was expecting a few funny looks but everyone was fantastically supportive and asked lots of questions as to why I was dressed up. The mug and T-Shirt were really nice memento's and I will definately be back next year to take on this challenging 10K. I just hope it is not as glorious as Sunday as that was most definately sun-bathing weather not running weather. The only thing I can think of as an improvement would be maybe another drinks station but apart from that superb. Cheers Horsham from Spiderman.
