In short: Weather brilliant - well organised again. Well done Stroud In full: Well organised as usual. I was slightly slower than last year but that's my fault. Not the easiest course but still good PB potential (I think I have done 3 PBs here), well supported. Date of review: October 28, 2010
In short: Great fun... In full: I agree that the distance was short 7.8/7.9 by concensus. I'm not sure what went wrong - mile markers up to 4/5 miles were probably OK, after that no where near. Atmosphere friendly but not for the serious road runner. Great as a team event and you get to 'deal' with some of the horse fences. Rain held off for the race, so manageable underfoot. In full: Very disappointed that the marathon was put back 1 hour to accommodate the 1/2. This meant an extra 2 hours in the heat for the longer event. I put this down to pure greed, if you want to do the half at least give the full marathon priority - it would have been better to start at 8:00 in the cool. As a result, this was my worst marathon. All the water stations and drinks help and the support was good but too late. This was my 4th Edinburgh marathon but won't do it again.
In short: Hard off road race - excellent conditions - well organised In full: First time, so didn't know what to expect. Seemed to be more ups than downs, hard but fair. Lots of encouragement and well marshalled. Must remember to do more off-road / hill work before next year! Date of review: April 19, 2010
In short: Best MT run in the area - always well organised In full: Well done Cirencester AC. Great race as always, more mud than usual due to heavy rain the day before and consequently the river deeper than expected! My favourite MT race in the area and hope that it continues for many years. In short: Well organised and lots of encouragement In full: Still not sure if this is a better course. Managed a PB which is always good news but that may have been down to excellent weather rather than the race or the course. The finish area not very exciting and with a cold wind chilled down quickly at the end of the race - so headed back to the car park. With race HQ so dar away there was no point in hanging around. The course itself is challenging (recognise bits from the Beacon 10K) and the last hill you know will be tough on the last leg. Like lots of runners don't like laps but could be a lot worse. Well done to Gloucester AC and the marshal for their support. Date of review: March 9, 2010
In short: Must have been the hardest todate... well done everyone... In full: Third attempt in the last 3 years (sensibly marshaled last year!). The last hill is cruel and the mud awful but great fun. Did a course PB but not sure how or why given the conditions... Always well organised and managed, thanks to all the marshals for the encouragement... Date of review: February 7, 2010
In short: Wet and windy, well organised and managed - hope to do better next year. In full: Given the weather conditions, well organised and friendly. Not as flat as I was lead to believe but still potential for a PB given better conditions Date of review: March 17, 2008
