In short: lovely race - but left a bad taste in the mouth In full: Well organised, charming race. Challenging hills and lovely scenery. Shame it rained cats and dogs all day. ..but what about the 'Geo' snack bar in the goody bag with a 2005 sell by date - left a bad taste on an otherwise sweet event. Date of review: March 5, 2012

In short: Oh I do like to run beside the seaside.... In full: ...good overall but lack of organisation[signs] at the start meant a lot of runners out of place for their time incl me so bottle necks were a problem in some places for the 1:45 - 2:00 runners. And was it just me or did we actually run 13.5 miles??? Date of review: February 19, 2012

In short: Much better than 2010 - slick and seamless In full: Much more sensibly organised - you wouldn't have thought there were so many running. Wider tracks, less silly town running. Just seemed a little flat on atmosphere. good for PB though. Date of review: February 20, 2011

In short: Getting too big for its running shoes In full: Rotten weather aside, this was the most congested I've seen it in the few years that I've run it. First 3 miles round town had too many bottlenecks. I just managed to avoid the queue to get over the finish line[unacceptable in any event]. The tag-removers needed to be further back. Bag storage was chaos - a free for all. Whole start/finish line area-layout needs rethinking if it's going to have this many runners and remain credible. Date of review: February 21, 2010

In short: Great but could be much much better. In full: Very hot so I blew up at 11.5. Parking was a mare again - why do they restrict entry to the Arena car parks causing a 5 mile queue up the ring road? The increased entry numbers caused problems getting out of the stadium and having to queue to get out after starting the race meant having to catch up. The congestion was bad for the first 5 miles and then eased only slightly. Not sure if this was because of runners starting in the wrong section or whether there were just a load of 1:45 - 2:00 runners - either way it needs to be more organised to prevent bottle necks. Great to get a medal, t-shirt, flapjack and lucozade at the end. Lovely event.
