In short: Great run for a first-timer
In full: Not a race that claims to be a rival to big city half marathons, but a good, relaxed, but well organised run for anyone looking for a mid-summer half marathon for a training run. Particularly liked the personal touch of the race marshalls looking up your name and cheering you on personally!

In short: Worst half marathon I have ever participated in
In full: Nice enough scenic course, but not sure what you get for entering this. Running along roads with traffic to battle with, poor water stations along the way and the worst finish to a half marathon I have ever seen. You normally expect at least a bottle of water, but there was nothing at all; you just crossed the line and then were left to head off into the sunset. Did not even receive the race memento of a calendar(?) as I think you had to go off and search for it, which was too much hassle for not very much!
Fair play to the race marshalls though - they were excellent, braving awful rain and wind, and remaining very cheerful throughout
