In short: Strange Twisty Route
In full: Very odd route ran over 2 laps - bit of trail combined with dull housing estates - gates galore combined with unclear route signage very confusing .

In short: Enjoyable
In full: Perfect weather for a pleasant run - nice & flat so definite PB potential - used as training run for London and managed to run to my schedule so good confidence builder - the only downer was personally would have prepared a couple of energy drink stations rather than a T Shirt at the end

In short: Needs some Fine Tuning
In full: The race itself was great - although as other comments state your not really seeing much of Edinburgh - more like the East Lothian Marathon

The course was quite pleasant despite the head wind for a lot of it ! The marshalls , support en route and the 'stadium finish' were fantastic.

The only real downers were the start area seemed a bit chaotic - the transport service back to Edinburgh was terrible , the queue for the shuttle buses must have been around a half mile long and not moving ! The last thing you want to be doing after a marathon is having to walk 3/4 extra miles to find transport back
