In short: Well-organised, great local race
In full: A challenging-enough course was made easier with more runner-friendly weather this year than last, and once over the hill in mile 3, it's mostly flat or downhill all the way home. Had enough left for a sprint finish to bring me in with a PB of over a minute, so very pleased.
Course was well-signposted, three water stations is good for a 10k, and the start finish area was very well organised. Will be back next year to make it 3 in a row.

In short: Fair local race marred by a poor start
In full: First - the good points: it's a nice course - challenging enough without being sadistic, a nicely position water station that you pass three times, some nice enough country lanes and views across fields. The marshalls were all very supportive and enthusiastic.
Now the bad: a shambles of a start. There was no indication until a minute before the scheduled start that we would in fact be starting in the opposite direction, so all runners had to fight their way through the throng to assume their positions. Then the path was far too narrow over the first 400m for the amount of runners.
Apart from this, a minor grip about gun to chip timing - this is of no real benefit to the runners, only the organisers - and the lack of goody bag.
These gripes apart, an enjoyable race

In short: Scenic, well-organised half with some cheeky hills
In full: My second year in a row here, and enjoyed the run again. Although it wasn't as hot as last year, it was still warm and humid under the trees, and there are some very testing parts of the course. I can't work out if a two-lap race means it's easier knowing how far it is to the finish, or harder because you know what you've still got in store?
It's a good race, but would be better I feel in a cooler month - late September/early October would be beautiful. But in a packed race calendar, I ought just to be grateful the race is there at all.
Could well be back next year to make it 3/3

In short: Meh
In full: Uninspiring course around a reservoir - being able to see for miles where you are about to run isn't fun!

In short: Great race through some charming countryside
In full: It's pretty much the perfect race - scenic course, with just enough challenge, great start/finish area, fantastic organisation. Will be a regular for me.

In short: Great little race through some charming countryside
In full: Watch out fo the tough first 1 1/2 miles - there is a long climb out of the village. Bar a short climb with 1/2 a mile to go, that's your uphill done for the race, but it does take it out of you. Don't expect a PB. Otherwise, this race is nice and cheap, well organised, and although club-dominated, there was a good mix of abilities. I'll be back next year with a bit more hill training under my belt

In short: Cheap and very cheerful
In full: A well-organised, flat run through some pleasant countryside, and a couple of pretty villages (with a decent turnout of supporters). I will do this one again
