In short: Organisationally very poor In full: I can't say i was overly impressed with this race.
The start was nothing short of shambolic, no one knew where the start was, which direction in which we were supposed to run, and then 'go' was shouted without any warning or countdown!
The course was challenging and well marshalled, it was just a shame that not one of the marshalls could take the time to smile or offer words of encouragement and drag their eyes away from their ever-texting mobile phones.
Upon finishing, according to my watch the course was almost half a mile under the 10k distance, which could help explain a number of the PB's posted on a quite difficult course.
The free t-shirt and medal were nice touches, although the race printed on the t-shirt seemed to be for one completely different to this one!
This has the potential to be a good challenging race, but the organisational skills will have to improve drastically for me to consider running this again. Date of review: July 5, 2009

In short: The poor organisation could easily discourage a first time runner. In full: I thought this might have been a good first race for my girlfriend who has taken up running. Sadly it wasn't.
The organisation was very poor indeed. This shouldn't be a surprise considering the organisers personal attack on the London Marathon in the race program.
The lack of toilets meant my girlfriend had to queue for 30 mins. By the time we had reached the start we were much further back than we had hoped for, taking another 30 mins to even get past the start.
The route itself is nice and well marshalled with a good amount of water stations, but you have to seriously question the costs to enter and the organisational shambles at the start and finish. Considering the cost to enter, you can't help but feel cheated by the quality of t-shirt, goodie bag and tacky medal.
Either cut down on the amount of runners, or have seperate waves depending on anticpated time. Will not be running this again and i hope my girlfriend realises that things can only get better after this! Date of review: July 6, 2008
