In short: This must be the most challenging UK road marathon but it wasn't as scary as we were led to believe e In full: I rate this the most scenic road marathon in the British Isles.... and I've done them all. (Fractionally more scenic than the Callanish Stones run I would say, but some may argue?!) The weather was an added bonus. Well done to the organisers for an idyllic weekend with two outstanding marathons. If only I could run faster; the winners' trophies were the most attractive I've seen. Date of review: June 18, 2008

In short: More like an assault course but magnificent scenery to dull the pain In full: The wind blew, the sun shone, and the hills climbed but what a sense of achievement to come over the Finish Line. Excellent organisation and first class hospitality. I do hope it turns out not to be a "one and only" event! Date of review: June 18, 2008

In short: Brilliant scenery and very welcoming. First class organisation. This was really put to the test with the "tropical" weather conditions encountered this year and the guys and gals of Halstead coped magnificently.. Date of review: May 12, 2008
