In short: Beautiful!
In full: Lovely race in some gorgeous countryside.

Much better finish this year (i.e. I didn't mow down any under-5s who were wondering around)!

In short: Lovely route: eventually!
In full: Great Easter 10 MAC - thank you!

Once you get out of the business park, there's only about 6 1/2 miles left, which is mostly through lovely country side.

A friendly and well-attended race. Well-organised and well-supported.

In short: Bog-snorkeling bonus!
In full: What a great morning! The rain, which had been torrential, held off and this was, again, a fab race.

It's a Very Tough road race: all up hill for the first couple of miles; undulating with some sharp ups and downs for the next 9; down down down for the final two.

The atmosphere was great today, as we were all joined by our insanity to run such a toughie in what looked like would be torrential rain. The marshals were extremely encouraging and chirpy, considering they'd been out in the rain for hours.

The course was flooded in places, but only to just below my knees (I'm not very tall) and was a good giggle.

Thanks Striders for a great race!

In short: Flat and inoffensive!
In full: Not bad for a "lap" half marathon (the lap repeats miles 2-6 ish as 7-10 ish!), and the flat course definitely has pb potential.

The marshalls were friendly and cheerful and there was a great spread of people around the course: some awesome cheering by youngsters!

It's a shame that so many runners were wearing headphones, as I witnessed several near-misses as swerving runners hadn't realised that others were behind them. Besides which, in what was a mixed and friendly field, they missed out on the banter and encouragement given by other runners!

A nice race which I may do again, but it's not a classic.

In short: One down, two to go!
In full: Slightly different course from last year, but still with that lovely hill (TWICE!)... Super race with lots of us at the back having a nice time in the wood.

Don't forget some bug-repellent: it was midge/mozzie-tastic!

In short: Beautiful scenery; not enough marshals!
In full: This was a lovely race, with enough hills for a challenge, but not so awful it was unattainable.

There were a couple of places to get lost, and some long(ish) stretches with no marshals, which wasn't great when a runner got into difficulties about a mile in. Likewise, there was nothing keeping non-runners away from the finishing straight at the football club and I nearly knocked down a toddler who strayed across the path!

This is only a minor complaint though, as the race was friendly and well organised overall.

I'd like to do it again, but in the winter!!

In short: Hills! Hills! Hills! (For the south...)
In full: Lovely, well organised race with friendly marshals and a great atmosphere.

I took the advice of an experienced runner and "saved my energy" (walked) up the really steep hills, but it certainly paid off.

Thank you Marlow Striders - I had a great time!

In short: Hard, beautiful, but I'm not that slow!
In full: This was a brilliant day out and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. As leg 4, I had the delight of finishing over the line, and a largely down-hill final mile and a half.

Teams really need to organise themselves to be at the handover in plenty of time - several people had been left stranded by "friends" being late, or even in the wrong place!

The chip timing was shocking though. The handover was at the same place as the timing mat and, if you waited any where near the mat, your chip was activated... Perhaps the handover marshalls could have been better briefed about this?

All-in-all a great day out and top, top fun.
