In short: Well-organised mass-participation
In full: My home fixture, and as a Vet 65 pleased to run for the 4th time and do a PB. Wave start and pens worked OK: very few slower runners around me, so soon Into the rhythm. Great support from public and specifically from Southville RC members . Finish arrangements excellent, nice medal and T-shirt, sad goody bag.

In short: Serious challenge for fit runners
In full: A most impressive event. Probably the toughest and best-organised of local 10ks. Superbly marshalled, and thanks to you all. I was pleased, as a V60, to run it in 47.12 but didn't have much left. A superb circuit, a privilege to pass through such lovely surroundings, and on traffic free roads.

In short: Splashy speedy outing
In full: Great course, and modest numbers allow you to get straight into the race even if you start in the back half. Some of the best marshalling I've encountered. Lack of directional signs to venue a big mistake, especially on a wet day with an early start.

In short: Gale-force exposure
In full: My third Plain Crazy and it's different each time! Great sweeping views and challenging gradients blasted by a powerful wind. It's a different experience from your average town 10k or half: small-scale, informal, unprecdictable and at the mercy of the weather. And for a very good cause. Thanks again Ted Wilson and colleagues.

In short: Small-scale but a fine race
In full: A single circuit with some undulations through beautiful countryside on roads with light traffic. Mostly club runners who seemed to enjoy the low-key ambience, unobtrusive efficiency and delicious cakes

In short: Forest Run Surpasses Most
In full: This is a brilliant race;enough undulations to be challenging; delightful scenery, friendly crowds, easy parking and the sunny day helped. I managed a PB, so all's well with the world.

In short: Local, friendly. mildly challenging
In full: A race to get you into racing: welcoming, family atmosphere, efficient and friendly admin., run on local roads and lanes with a grand final stretch up the main street. The hill at 6-7k demands respect.

In short: Wide vistas, long hills
In full: In mild weather such a contrast to last year's snow and ice; last-minute course change (Army's fault)meant more road less rough country; unexpected hazard near Imber was convoy of smelly 2CV Citroens. A race like no other and may it long continue! This year's HQ excellent although Sack Hill at start a rude beginning.

In short: Super mudfest
In full: My first Slog on a glorious day with enough filth and water to satisfy all mudlark runners. I didn't find it hard as there were so many natural rests at styles, sheep dips etc. The brief, dignified Act of Remembrance gives this event a special atmosphere.

In short: Varied scenery and well-supported
In full: My fourth time running this well-organised race; just the right size to be both a spectacle and a friendly local event. Not a beautiful course and hemmed in by traffic at several points.Hard work against the headwind this year.
