In short: (Hill, mud, muddy hill) and repeat
In full: A real test of strength and stamina. Great scenery but you'd've had to stop to look or risk slipping over. Great organisation, cheerful wet marshals, never a dull moment. I'll be back next year.

In short: All the mud and water it promised with great marshals, goody-bag and sense of occasion.
In full: Oh why did I race and pull a hamstring yesterday? It meant my slowest Slog yet, but gave me time to enjoy the autumn sun and chat to other slower runners. The Sodbury Slog is what running is all about - but not if you don't like mud!

In short: Never fails to tick all the boxes!
In full: Although the 'new' course can't quite compete with the old one, there was as much mud and water as Gordon could find, and little or no queues to get in or out of the ditches! Lovely to have the towel instead of the usual t-shirt, and the goodie-bag was better then most. The day is always made special by the 2-minute silence and Last Post before the start, and it allows you to reflect when the going gets tough later in the race! Thanks Bitton RR.

In short: Great marshals; flat course with good start/finish, well marked, plenty of feed stations, good all round - even the weather!
In full: 'Goody bag' was a bit of an exaggeration - 29p bottle of water and a Mars bar? Better to have these available at end and leave it off the list. Cup of tea and ginger biscuit was far more welcome. Oh, and I got my PB and achieved status of 'First runner not to finish under 4 hours'

In short: I will keep coming back - need I say more?
In full: As wet as ever! Mud like a skating rink, mud to clog-up your shoes, then some sloshy mud. Slightly messy start when the hooter went before a quarter of the field were ready, but we were never going to win anyway. Thoroughly good humoured, cheerful marshals, lots of support, and a decent goodie-bag. Always worth the effort.

In short: Lovely marshals, PB course, access, parking & parking good.
In full: This could have been my marathon pb by miles. Abingdon did everything right - I just blew it! Will be happy to come back and try again.

In short: Mud, more mud, hills, more hills but good downhills for recovery. Views a bit lost in the clag but too busy watching my feet. Thank you to the marshals and supporters of all ages.

In short: Mud, tree-roots and a never-ending hill. A challenging but fun race.
In full: My first running of the Trot. I'd heard a lot about it and it lived up to expectations. Well organised with friendly efficient marshals, and the Beer Ticket for all finishers meant a social atmosphere afterwards. One cautionary note: not a race for someone who doesn't like hills - both up and down!

In short: A joy from the cheerful parking helpers through Kilcot Hill to the finish refreshmentss
In full: Superb encouraging marshals help with the not-quite-so easy bits; water and jelly babies at regular intervals. I only wish the age categories were in 5-yr stages - but hey, I'll soon be 55! I mean to run this race as long as I can crawl up Kilcot hill!
