In short: Pleasant course with definate PB potential In full: Hopefully, this race will become an annual fixture. The looping course was a little disconcerting as mentally, I hate repeating myself on a run. 6 portaloos for up to 550 runners is not enough and more should be sourced for future events. At times the ground is fairly uneven which affects pace, and my Garmin had the course distance as 10.2k rather than 10k which made for a tough finish. Drinks stations could be better thought out - realistically, there was only one (who wants a drink 100m before the finish line?). I don't want to appear negative, as this was a lovely a race, but I think that with a few tweaks, it could be a special 10k. Date of review: July 8, 2009

In short: Well organised, friendly race In full: Wow! Heat and protracted inclines made this a fairly challenging race. My knee went at mile 4 so most of the race was a battle to finish. I thought that the organsiation was fantastic, the route managed to make the most of what Bracknell has to offer, and the small groups of supporters and marshalls really helped to keep the runners going. In short: Superbly organised, thoroughly enjoyable race! In full: Only my second HM, but this one will definately be the yardstick by which all others are judged. Considering the size of the field, the organisation was brilliant and the people of Reading were incredibly generous with their support. Date of review: March 29, 2009

In short: Great Race - Shame about the weather! In full: My first 1/2 marathon race - and my local one was very enjoyable. My only gripe would be that the first drinks station was very early - at about 2 miles, the second was at about 5, but was not handing out water meaning that I had to wait until about 7 miles for my first slurp!
Apart from that, I really enjoyed this race. The weather was rubbish, but I think that the rain actually helped. Nicwe medal. Would definately do this again! Date of review: October 5, 2008

In short: Great race for first time 10K-ers. Excellent value. In full: This was my first 10K race, despite regularly running the distance in training. Going into the race I was hoping for a 55min time, but the heat was incredible so I settled on aiming for sub 1 hour - which I managed by 20 secomds! The atmosphere was great and the value for money was suberb: medal, t-shirt, fruit and water presented by a Mayor in full robes who looked hotter than some of the runners! Would definately do this again. Date of review: May 14, 2008
