In short: Add in muddy and it's all in the title
In full: A fabulous clear sunny day made the most of spectacular views. Everyone was very friendly and apart from one slight bottleneck near the start on the racecourse it was easy to run. I was quite glad of the marshalling error as it avoided having to run down the very steep tarmac road twice - so thanks, Marshal - and we all found our way back to the right place. Also a special cheer for the Joker marshal who was a star all day. Racecourse made a great base and the beer and jaffa cakes made me smile.

Only suggestion for improvement: the advice that road shoes would be fine was misplaced and I felt sorry for a couple of people I saw slipping around helplessly on very greasy tracks.

In short: Friendly but challenging trail run through lovely woodland
In full: The amazing weather meant there were hardly any bluebells but no other complaints about this local and very friendly race. 10k course was two 5km laps, a mixture of tarmac (no traffic), trails and woodland paths, all very good running. Mostly uphill on the way out and downhill. Combining the race with a walk made for a lot of great on course support and only a few child/dog traffic jams.

In short: Should have brought some skis
In full: Seriously challenging under foot - took a huge amount of concentration just to stay vertical - but great fun. Lovely countryside, sparkling with snow. Excellent marshals, not only encouraging but shouting out placing, which kept me from slacking. Interesting moment when I realised there was no way to run round those brown ice-filled puddles. I had no change and nor did the cake ladies so regretfully can't comment there but it all seemed very well run.
