In short: Excellent Fun! But Don't Moan About the Walkers In full: Having done this race before, it is not a PB course and I run this one for fun. Having had serious illness in the past two years, I am not as fast as I was and was one of the 'walkers up the hills!'. The only minus was people pushing past me to get a faster time. Does anyone else run for fun anymore!!. Even had someone shouting 'it's Hellrunner, not Hellwalker'!. Everyone who took part should be proud of themselves, runners and walkers. Here's my message for the moaners: START AT THE FRONT IF YOU WANT A GOOD TIME. WE'RE NOT ALL MO FARAH, GET A LIFE AND HAVE FUN. Date of review: December 1, 2011

In short: Well Done Market Drayton RC In full: Liked the different route, challenging but still with definite PB promise. Well done to Market Drayton RC for pulling this off at such short notice. Liked the Tech T-shirt and the goody bag. Was surprised to see the free Muller yoghurts were still given out but they were gratefully recieved. This race is always worth turning up for and it was good to see such a good turn out. Shame for Muller, think they shot themselves in the toot with this one!! Date of review: May 12, 2011

In short: Pretty Country Race In full: This was very well organised, with lots of super friendly marshalls and lots of local support. Despite the heat, the course was lovely along the country lanes. The finish was well organised, however we waited for 40 mins for a bus back to the start and ended up getting a lift back from a fellow runner (thanks). Liked the medal and goody bag. In short: Lovely Race, Please Improve Organisation In full: This is one of my regular races and I really enjoy it, the course is great with real PB potential. However, I have to agree, to run out of water is unacceptable. I know Scotland doesn't normally have nice weather, however, the warm weather all week must have been a hint that lots of water would be needed. I finished in just over two hours and was surprised to see that the t-shirts were running out at the finish. The medal was brill but I had lots missing from my goody bag (no mars bar or free magazine). Please improve this race for next year. To run out of water in a race is a cardinal sin!! In short: Flat, Fast! In full: As a regular runner of this race, me and my husband also take part in the duathlon beforehand and add this on for endurance training. As usual, the organisation was good, yes it was a shame about the medals but these things happen. Not sure why the GIANT COLA BOTTLES were plugged so well, they were ok. Please get rid of the GIANT STRAWBERRYS they were far too tough to chew!! See you again DB Max. Ps, missed the giant dog this year! Date of review: March 4, 2011

In short: Friendly, Local Race In full: One of the best organised races i've ever done. Very clubby but quite a few first time runners. The course was quite flat, muddy with a few twists and turns. Well done to the organiser for having lots of marshalls who were all really friendly and cheerful. Loved the free tea, coffee and cakes for runners and what was great was that it was all set up really early for us early birds. The goody bag was great, the hat was a bonus and unexpected, good to have something different. A big thanks to the organisers who contacted me to tell me i'd won a spot prize and posted it out to me. A BIG WELL DONE TO THE ORGANISERS,EVERYONE COULD LEARN FROM YOU. Date of review: January 4, 2011

In short: Good if you like laps!! In full: As there was not much information about this race available beforehand, I really didn't know what to expect. We arrived two hours before and couldn't get in to park so had to come back a bit later. I was told that it was four laps of the park but it turned out to be four and a half. I was told the course was flat but it wasn't exactly and I could see the less experienced found it hard work on mostly grass and tracks. For someone who doesn't like laps I found it boring but heard lots of people who sang its praises. The bonus was the t-shirt, medal and goody bag which was good value for £12. This race was average and could have been improved by providing more info beforehand as I think this put people off. Date of review: November 1, 2010

In short: A scenic race- shame about the organisation! In full: As this was a first race for the'Black Sheep' organisers I won't be too harsh but however.... mile markers would have been welcome, it would have broken up the race and the woodland stretches wouldn't have been so long. Also, more marshalls would have been a good idea, I was one of three who fell in the woodland area where it was full of tree roots and it was at least two miles to the next marshall from where I fell. I saw another guy in a very bad way sat at the side of the path and St Johns ambulance were at least a 20 min walk away from him (maybe a mountain bike for them would have been good). As one of the runners at the back of the pack I was fairly lonely as most of the runners were fast club runners, so the course seemed really long but the scenery was lovely, despite my fall! I agree with one of the comments below that a goody bag would have been nice with the medal. However, for a first time race overall it was good. Sadly I probably wouldn't run it again and would opt for another race. Thanks to the scouts with the bacon butties at the end, that was great, and glad to see they stayed until all the runners had finished. Date of review: August 1, 2010
