In short: Uninspiring, undulating and NOT a PB course In full: Just found it very unimaginative, although the water stations were reliably manned and well organised parking, and there were good crowds in places, just felt it lacked that certain something to inspire me to return. The park section was harshly undulating.. I would not recommend to others anyway. Date of review: September 12, 2010

In short: Surprisingly challenging but very well organised event. In full: The route out to Torquay included some deceptively challenging undulations - and the double loop around the green at the beginning was nice and flat to spread out the field but slightly boring... overall difficult mental challenge in places with passing most of the field throughout the race (on other side of road) - but very well stationed and nice strong support at finish! Some uplifting music at the end would have helped? Date of review: June 21, 2009

In short: Fast marathon but poor organiser foresight given hot weather predictions. In full: The support and general organisation of the course was all very well-intended but I think given the numbers running and the weather conditions there should have been some contingency planning! Luckily I was able to get water at every station - but really feel for those that couldn't - and those expecting to run a marathon but having the distance cut short(!!) Overall - a great PB potential marathon, but if its hot - make sure you can run fast! Date of review: June 2, 2009

In short: Fantastic organisation on a challenging but beautiful rolling course! In full: Very impressed with the number of marshals and the encouragement they gave around the course. The course was on unclosed roads so every now and then you just had to keep to the side - but it really wasn't a problem! The hill at mile 8 was much faster to walk than run - so as long as you factored this in - there were enough downhills to really make up for it. Really memorable race - thanks Hogweeds!
