In short: Fantastic Scenery. Brilliant organisation. Superb Marshalls. And WINE. LOTS OF WINE!!! In full: This event is brilliant. Everyone embraces the spirit of the event which is to have fun, drink wine and run (walk)a marathon (or half). You might not PB in this event however it could be the best race you take part in during the racing calendar. Date of review: September 14, 2015
In short: If you only run one marathon this year, make it this one! In full: Without question, the best race I take part in each year. Clockwork organisation and fantastic little touches eg beer at the end, personalised drink stations.
And when I say mildly challenging for your PB, yes it is but this race holds mine so dont say it cant be done.
This really is the best race of the whole calendar. Date of review: May 9, 2013
In short: If you can only do one race in a year - it HAS to be this one. In full: The tv remote, sky plus, mobile phones. Once you have them, you cant live without them. Ladies & Gentleman, I give you the North Dorset Village Marathon : Once run, you cannot live without it. Firstly it runs like clockwork. Secondly, there are personal drink stops. Thirdly, the course is mildly hilly with some fantastic flat areas and gorgeously countrified. That is all without the fact there is beer on offer at the end!!! And marshalls who would die for at all your races throughout the year.
It is, without question , the race of the year!!!
Trotters, thank you again for a fantastic race. Date of review: May 25, 2012
In short: Friendly - Well Organised - What gives running a good name! In full: Excellent organisation is just what you want to start with and this race has it. From the coffee lady in the band hall (my thanks for a lovely mug), the race marshall, the course marshals, drink station helpers to all the runners who seem to treat this race as something special. Respect was shown by all who ran to others, great encouragement by those who had finished to those finishing and whilst the hill at 14 & 20 miles is a tad challenging overall this race is one you want to come back to. In short: Cant believe the moaning - Your alive aren't you? In full: Cant believe all the moaning. There are people dying out in the world and all these wingers are worried about is 4 laps, wind, rubbish car parking.
Okay so it is not the greatest of views, I dont believe the organisers were responsible for the weather and to moan about drinks stations, what are some people on.
Thanks RW and the pacing team. 1.41 and Im bloomin happy.
In short: Thanks Gillingham Trotters for this gem In full: Superb organisation, really great marshalls, massive thanks to them all and the drink stations with personal drinks, Ive been running races for 21 years and have yet to see one so excellently organised.

Its organised by runners who must know the need for sufficient toilets at these kind of events, how much would it eat into the funds to get sufficient portaloos?
Despite this, its one of my all time favourite 10ks and is on my annual calendar now. Date of review: August 1, 2010
