In short: Great experience but very tough
In full: I trained on lots of hills for this race but it still wasn't enough. The race beat me and I would like to come back one day and have another go at it and do better. Would love to do it without walking and get a sub 4 hour time.
Friendly with good organisation although chip timing makes it overpriced and is unnecessary

In short: Good race but not a must do by any means
In full: Countryside route but not exactly scenic. Very tough course but underlating rather than hilly. Uneven ground very hard on the ankles. Organisation was very good apart from a few sleepy marshalls. Couldnt fault too much.

In short: Rating for 2009 - coulnt enter correct year!!!
In full: No recording of times? Totally unacceptable in my opinion. Not a race at all. The good points? Friendly people, an interesting windy route, a nice goody bag and a usable tech vest. The worst thing about the race? The marshalls. I always appreciate a good marshall but tghese lot were the worst ever. Stood at the wrong positions. 2 or 3 in some places and none in crucial positions. 5 of us went wrong at one point with the marshall gone AWOL. One guy sat reading a book-may as well have been reading it at home and a lack of verbal and non verbal commands- may as well have been cardboard cut outs. As another competitor said "Rubbish" and " This is Botox(or something simular!!!)

In short: Good race in nice surroundings
In full: I would say a very well organised race. Quite low key and a good place to run on a warm July day.PB potential although enough bridges and turns and uneven surfaces to slow you down. One gripe for me was that the kilometre markers didn't seem very accurate. I think this is an important issue to get right in the future otherwise a big well done to the organisers-oh and the website could use some improvement.

In short: A Fun run for fun runners only
In full: Just not a race for the more competitive runner. The start was a joke. The guy started late ran up and blew the horn without any warning or bringing the runners to the start line. Agree that the bottles of water were unneccessary and small cups would be better. Very congested last lap overtaking slower runners. Could these greedy charities lower their prices to encourage more people from the local community to run. What happened to sport for all? Too expensive and too amateurish in short-once a year fun runners only!!

In short: dissapointing organisation
In full: What a terrible idea to make people queue for their numbers. Having signed up on line I expect to have my number through the post and on my vest when I arrive. DUMB!!!
