In short: TOUGH BUT UPLIFTING
In full: This was my first time, and my second Half after New Forest last year. It was really tough. Hill after hill, which has always been my weakness. Having said that,I really enjoyed it, as you cannot beat the euphoria of getting to the top of each incline. The last hill was a killer though. Really cruel! I improved by New Forest time, and am looking forward to Lytchett now. Very nice people organising and superb location in rural Dorset shows how lucky I am to live here.

In short: WET AND COLD BUT GREAT FUN
In full: This was my first Half, and I thought it was a great course with challenging but achievable hills, and varied scenery. Hats off to marshalls and spectators who must have been frozen and soaked through. I just ask that the foil blankets are given out as soon as we get across the line, before the water and snack bars, because I became cold in seconds of finishing. I will definitely do this again next year.

In short: More runners please
In full: This is a very nice race but did not attract many runners this year. This affected the overall atmosphere. it is a shame because it is well organised wtih great marshalls and hot cross buns at the end. Come everyone - enter in 2013!

In short: One of the nicest races I have done!
In full: The weather was spot on - not too cold, no wind, cloudy and lovely quiet roads to run on for the most part. It was quite undulating but the downhill parts more than made up for the uphills and overall made the race feel quite quick. It was a bit hairy on the main road coming home where there should have been marshalls. I didnt feel totally safe with some cars not slowing down. But a nice welcome back and a PB for me (i think - results yet to be published). Will definitely do this again next year. Lovely!

In short: Well organised, well marshalled, a glorious day for a run along the prom.
In full: Will definitely do this again next year. A definite PB course. A lovely sunny day but a bit of a shock after running through the winter in zero temperatures.

In short: LOVED THE GREAT SOUTH RUN
In full: Apart from those last 2 miles this was a thoroughly enjoyable run. I ran alongside a Smurf who was tireless in his 'high fives' to the kids watching. Great atmosphere. Getting in and out of Portsmouth seemed quicker. Will definitely do it again next year.
