In short: Challenging conditions around a pleasant mixed route.
In full: This was my 5th Orpington 10km race and usually I worry about the weather being hot and not wet!! The strong wind and muddy ground made the route tough going, think it's time to buy some trails!! I was not sure what to expect with the new route as although high elms has some steep hilly bits, it was nice running through the trees and along the trails, but as another reviewer said, there was plenty of trail bits to enjoy with the new route. The organisation was great as usual and the marshalls very supportive especially the sergeant major shouting to keep going!! The new chip system makes the entry fee very reasonable and all in all a very good race. Thanks again!!

In short: The hills are challenging but when race complete there is a real sense of achievement!!
In full: Excellent value and good pre race info. Easy to register and started bang on 9am! Route was really good, super challenging with a mix of terrains and a few gates to get over and round!! Helpful and supportive marshalls, loads of water stations and friendly fellow runners. So much so, I got a helpful pull up from the long grass when I fell - thank you for that!! Good medal and refreshments at the end, especially the squash!! Not sure what happened to the prize giving, got too cold to stick around.

In short: So many runners/walkers - staggered start required!!
In full: Always a great experience, excellent organisation, very friendly and helpful volunteers and supportive crowd.
However, very disappointed to start from the blue start and grind to a halt after 2 minutes and walk for quite a while. This just should not happen during such a major marathon. The rest of the route felt like rush hour in London too - getting nowhere fast!! For so many runners there has to be a staggered start in future or proof of peoples finish time, when the pen numbers are dished out. Otherwise there is no chance of achieving your best time at this marathon, unless you are elite or a celebrity at the front of the pack!!
I think I would be tempted to go back to Brighton if I run another marathon, you get just as much support from the crowd down there and pretty much free rein of the course, sorry!
And the t-shirt, well it will just be another bit of bed wear, how many people does one size actually fit??!

In short: Great route and well organised
In full: I thoroughly enjoyed myself!! Fantastic staged start prevented bottlenecking along narrow parts of the course. Brilliant marshalls and a few cheering crowds helped us along. Nice goody bag too.

In short: A great race worth travelling to the seaside for!
In full: A very hot race (not my favourite!) but a great race. Easy to enter on the day, very supportive marshalls and crowd, good goodie bag and always good to have a shout out at the finish line! Nice to be by the seaside too!!

In short: Wild, windy and wonderful!!
In full: My first MOK half and would definitely do it again!
Easy access to start, no hassle registration, fun warm up, quick start of race - no hanging around.
Route was fantastic, a good loop and a complete mix of scenery and terrain. Marshalls a plenty and all very supportive and big thanks for the remote water stations. Great finish area with cheering crowds and a good shout out by commentator. Fantastic refreshments, not had anything quite like it before. Very special medal and goody bag. Brilliant and thank you!

In short: Another fantastic Brighton Marathon!
In full: Many many thanks for a wonderful race, again. Ran last year and got a pb. This year with an injury I still got in under 4 hours which I was very pleased with.
Organisation was brilliant - the start had a quicker toilet queue this year and the race started promptly. There were endless supplies of water, powerade and energy cubes with brilliant volunteers and marshalls. The additional stages and music was a real nice touch. The best thing of all though was the absolutely fantastic atmosphere and support from the crowd, you just can't beat it! Really love the course so please don’t change it - you gotta just laugh as you go round the industrial bit, it doesn't last for long and as you make the loop you are in the right direction for the finish line and the brilliant atmosphere of the last few miles. Great finish, lots of refreshments, a fab tshirt and medal.
Nice additions to make a weekend of it with the exhibition and the party and really loved the app, very helpful for spectators and knowing when fellow runners are on the route.
One little request for next year, I learnt my lesson last year trying to leave the exit via the stairs so went along the sea front instead. This was still a little tricky with the waves of spectators trying to walk towards the meeting area, especially with tired legs!! Maybe have a one way system??
A great weekend and a lifetime memory!

In short: Adequate and good fun!
In full: I needed to do a 10km race as part of my winter training and having one down the road was ideal. I was dreading the multiple laps but it was actually ok and with a mix of terrain. Fun to run round a track for a bit, pretending to be a real athlete! Entering on the day was easy to do, marshals were helpful and small crowds cheering here and there. T shirt, medal, apple and water on each lap and after was acceptable seeing as entry fee was only £10. I enjoyed myself and got a brilliant PB.

In short: Great race, loads of marshalls, nice goody bag and medal, leg burning hill!!
In full: Good organisation at start, easy to enter on the day and nice to have some indoor space while cold in the morning. Good race for all runners, good route, even though out and back and flat apart from the couple of elevations towards the end - a deep breath or 2 required for the big hill!! Loads of marshalls, some super supportive, especially chap on the loud speaker at the end. Great goody bag and medal.
