In short: Beautiful course! In full: Absolutely gorgeous course, and when I had problems with my race entry due to the internet crashing the race organiser was very helpful. The course could have been better marked as the arrows were small and not always clear where to go, the marshalls should have been more confident in telling us which way (as I did go wrong at one point (the u-turn) and could of done in several other points because the marshalls didn't say where to go, even when I held my hands up to question.) Shame about the goody bag but then that was not the organisers fault, it was down to the sponser. This might sound a bit negative but I would honestly love to do this race again next year. In short: Amazing, despite conditions! In full: Course was really tough this year as it was a mud bath (which I slipped in at 17mi and grazed my knee), but luckily the rain stayed away for the duration of the race! Lost my water bottle at 13mi so had to rely on the water stations which were fantastic! Managed to run the whole way which is a first, although think this is more to do with my fitness improving than the course! Would definitely do this again. Lovely to have a local race that you can train on the course. Date of review: December 24, 2012

In short: Hills got the better of me! In full: Beautiful countryside, but relentless hills and a brutal finish! Great free tech t shirt though, beats a goody bag any day! If you do this next year I would pay a visit to do a training run on the course beforehand, as I definately under estimated it! Date of review: April 2, 2012

In short: Train hard for this one! You'll need it! In full: My longest run in prep for this was 16 miles xc with hard hills, but I still struggled a bit. This is definately a course to aim for getting round, not for times! Nice touch having bananas, mars bars etc on the water stations, and getting a t-shirt was a bonus too! Spectacular scenery! In short: New PB for me by 3 mins! In full: New PB for me by 3 mins! I quite like a couple ups and downs, so this was perfect. Shame about the gate at the start as it meant we all rushed off, only to come to a holt 100m down the road, also narrow gates/paths in a couple places held me back, but really liked the whole event. Definately would do this again. Date of review: November 7, 2011

In short: Nice series to test yourself next time! In full: Windy along the seafront this time, but will definately be back next month to test myself again! Don't try to cut too close corners or you may fall in the sea! Hahaha Date of review: July 7, 2011

In short: Lovely 10 miler in the heart of the south downs In full: Organisation went off without a hitch, beautiful english countryside, the 3 mile hill to start with is a bit challenging, but can actually help you if you pace it right! Think the bloke on the megaphone on the finish did a fantastic job at shouting at some of the finishers that were standing in the way of those still racing! Nice medal, and the lil scouts were very good at dishing out the water too! Date of review: May 8, 2011

In short: Good race, hot this year which caught me out, shame about marshall on finish! In full: 2nd time running this race, had to pull out this year at 20 miles due to a case of the squits in the morning and the heat which left me really dehydrated. After walking 2 miles back to the start I asked a lady marshall if I could have a bottle of water from the water station as I'm pulling out, and she said no, only if I've finished! Paying nearly £30 for the race, I don't mind missing out on the t-shirt and medal if I don't finish, but come on a bottle of water? Pfft!!!!! Date of review: April 12, 2011
