In short: No potential for PB unless in Orange or before. I would assume alot of people didn't give their correct predicted time as many walking after a few miles. In full: Expensive when you think it costs more to do this than London marathon, The T shirt should be a technical one for that entry fee. I always ask where does all our money go and never get a proper answer. Lack of organisation around pens when runners were walking to them with their families and young children were upset why did the marshalls let them down near the pens this area should be for runners only. We weren't moving for alot of minutes and then other marshalls wouldn't let us in the right pens as we were late. I like the atmosphere but there are to many people in one area after the race so chaos. My baggage bus must have had the worst driver on Tyneside as he had alledgedly had gone around a corner to fast and the whole bagges had moved. My bag was missing until 2 marshalls came and found it for me after 20 mins of them looking. I may do it again in a few years time but I wouldn't rush for next year havkng done this race twice. In short: Very hilly combined with apalling weather conditions In full: I would rate the hills, as in Runners World, being one of the top hard challenges. The weather made this race hardwork and the road race was more cross country in places. More toilets this year and goody bag made it almost worth doing. Date of review: November 4, 2009

In short: what a good course and got a PB In full: A good flat course although running one way along a road when the faster ones are on the way back is a bit demoralising. It was a very cold day which is challenging knowing what to wear and how many layers. This is still a problem I have to work out in my second year of running. Date of review: December 1, 2008

In short: Very hilly more than undulating so a challenging course decent goody bag and this year the tshirt was fantastic long sleeve breathable material probably as 25th race anniversary. Nice touch with 'Guy Fawkes' starting the race. In full: Only problem I find which is common at most races is lack of toilets for the female competitors which was a shame as otherwise well organised. In short: I enjoyed the race although the first hill was hard work! In full: This was the first time I had run this race and although I knew about the hill at the beginning it was still hard work. It was warm and muggy which affected some people and I was glad it rained at my 5miles. I am a club runner and I was pleased to see alot of non club runners must be good for the future.
