In short: Well-organised and marshalled. Hills, long and slow but surprisingly good for a PB
In full: Race info.& No. through in plenty of time with an informative course profile. Well organised buses to the race start. No queues to pick up chip. Great facilities at the start and end. Pretty prompt start time. Super marshalling & really encouraging.
I had been a little worried from the profile about a couple of big hill, but they were long and gradual, as were the downhills. A PB and I finally broke 2hrs - will definitely try and make it back next year.

In short: Nicely organised, local race, challengingly undulating
In full: A non-chip race, but nicely organised. Initially around the industrial estate and then on to the main road until you turn into the more scenic park. A 2mile gradual hill starting at the end of the first mile then nicely downhill until the last mile or so with 2 smaller uphill bits over the last mile or so for the final challenge. Tough on the last hill, but I was able to keep going and was more than happy with 56:26

In short: A pleasant change from road races
In full: A nice & challenging course for someone like myself who usually sticks to flatter road races. Takes me back to being a kid jumping in muddy puddles. A little more strenuous than the advertised flat/undulating profile, although that could be me just being a wimp.
I tend to run races looking ahead of me, particularly on a trail race, looking for tree roots and other obstacles, so was not expecting to get my legs taken out from underneath me by a dog cutting in front of me from behind on one of the crowded and narrower parts next to the water. It could have been nasty, but thankfully I stumbled on and regained my balance, not really the dogs fault, but if anyone was going to run with a dog, they really should have control over it, maybe better to have a separate start. Confused over the finish, 10K or not? if not, then really what was the point of the chip timing? Good marshaling, nice T-shirt at the end.

In short: Great organisation, lovely crowds - good for a first half
In full: Very well organised race, with great marshalling, fairly flat and plenty of water stations. Only negative was a tightly packed start with cars parked up in the way. Fortunately although the sun came out, it wasn't as hot as I'd expected - thank goodness for British Summers.

In short: Lovely course, great support, finish could be better co-ordinated
In full: Last year, I fell fowl of the Park & Ride to get to the start, so took the train this time but I hear it was better this year. Lots of great support on the way round and good marshaling. Lovely, slightly undulating course, it felt really good to run and enabled me, quite surprisingly to get my PB. Unfortunately the finish at the end was still not sorted and the further back you finished the worse it seemed to get. T-shirts came in different sizes this year, so fortunately I don't have another nightshirt.

In short: Nice undulating run - pity about the non-chip start
In full: Muddy start and I was confused where the start was because I was looking for the chip recording mats. A little congested at the beginning but once out of the town centre - it opened out and I must admit, not bad considering the traffic wasn't stopped for most of it. Nice undulating run, a bit hilly in places, but what goes up must come down! The marshalls did a great job and I got my first sub-hour and a PB, can't be bad!
