In short: Great organisation, great crowds
In full: Went off bang on time, very well organised, crowds good throughout and great mix of scenery with park, docks, seafront, promenade, city centre... oh and a tunnel! Also I did it 14 minutes quicker than last year so very happy with that.

In short: Excellent first running of the event.
In full: My first marathon and the first running of this event. Bit of a delay at the start, but not the organisers fault and once going it all went well.
Loads of drink and gel stations with water and sports drinks.
Crowds were fantastic especially coming out of the tunnel and through the city centre.
Some tough hills even being local and knowing what to expect, but it is a marathon so should be a challenge.
Would definitely recommend it and do it again.

In short: Very enjoyable race, great course with mix of city and parks
In full: A bit crowded at the start, but I understand the start location will move next year - a victim of its own success. Likewise at the end but no real problem and once again well organised and fun. The home straight was great with crowds cheering either side that made even a plodder feel like a real athlete for a moment.

I know some have complained about the goody bags and t-shirts, but all I can say is I got mine fine and I like the orange t-shirt.

In short: very wet, but strangley more enjoyable for that
In full: very very wet, but ran smoothly for the most part.
It got congested in parts as run went along a narrow path which was a change from last year to avoid runners crossing each other on a road, but a bit unsure if it worked.

I only saw water at the drink stations and only realised they had energy gels from their website afterwards as they were thanking the providers! Drink stations were plentiful though lines not very long giving out so got a bit bunched up at times.

Overall though very enjoyable and would definitely do it again and recommend it.

In short: City centre through tunnel and along prom - hard to beat
In full: First time I've done this and definitely one for the calendar. I had been warned about the climb out of the tunnel (which wasn't as bad as made out) and so took it easy going downhill so was fun to see people charging past on way down and then passing them on way out.

Only slight gripe was despite sponsoring the race and putting on free transport (which was great) merseyrail only seemed to run normal service and trains and platforms were packed.

Not the organisers fault though and otherwise it was excellent.

In short: Very good race, well organised.
In full: Only the 2nd half marathon I've done so not much to compare it to, but it was very enjoyable. Yes there was a short delay at the start, but we were informed of what was going on. Finish round the track was very good and racers were able to get medals and goody bags just after the finish in a racers only area so no crowd hanging around there.

In short: first timer so nothing to compare to but really enjoyed it and would do it again
In full: course had a good mix of running through the city and parks and great start and finish on the river front. quite big queues for the toilets at the start but that goes for all public events. At end it was hard to tell where the t-shirts and goody bags where with runners and non runners all mixed in, but really enjoyed the whole experience and it's given me the desire to do another.
