In short: Fantastic first running of this event.
In full: Anyone who's been running marathons for a while will know how long it has taken to get this marathon up and running - the petitions to Liverpool City Council, the emails and letters etc. The fact that we have had the privilege of running a marathon through the streets of Liverpool and Birkenhead is thanks to the dedication of Alan Rothwell, Race Director, and his team of helpers.

It was an amazing experience and the organisation and attention to details was excellent. The delay at the start was due to outside influences and the only other problems were minor niggles that will be ironed out by next year.

Thanks for a great marathon and may it go from strength to strength.

In short: Too much alongside the busy A20 for my liking and not enough hills to challenge you.
In full: I would only do this again as part of prep for a road marathon as I would have liked some off-road climbs across the beautiful Kent Downs - maybe Pilgrims' Way?

The organisation was good and the marshalls friendly. The hotel was an excellent venue and it was a delight not to have to queue for a portaloo!

In short: Fab!
In full: Wonderful race with the friendliest, most supportive marshalls ever. At the end of the race, one of the marshalls was leaving just as I was heading back to my car, which was parked a long way away, and she drove me right to it. Thanks Margaret, you made my day!

In short: Much improved course, good organisation, great goody bag, medal & tee shirt
In full: First did it in 2006 and didn't enjoy it because the roads were very busy and some were fast country lanes. Much improved now with road closures and traffic calming where possible.

Chip timing, very generous goody bag, a really nice medal and technical tee. Good value for money.

Lots of marshalls and Police out on the course.

Well done to the TWells Harriers.

In short: Once again, Hastings showed other race organisers how it should be done! The crowd support is second to none.

In short: Excellent first time event.
In full: Well done Martin and Cathy for organising yet annother excellent race. You know that there were a few shortcomings but I know that I don't need to list them as you will already have made notes to rectify the (minor) problems for next year! It was great fun wearing my Ms Santa outfit and I hope next year more will join me in dressing-up. The marshalls were brilliant and very encouraging, the medal was great and I got a mile pb and a 5 mile pb! Can't ask for more than that ;-)))) Hope you raised loads of dosh for the Martha Trust.

In short: Fantatsic event, well marshalled, scrummy food en-route and afterwards (if you could stomach it!), stunning scenery (although it was a bit too dull to see it properly), loads of forumites.

In full: Thoroughly enjoyed it again. Lovely friendly marshalls, nice medal and cake at the end. It's a great 10k and the hills aren't that bad really ;-)))
