In short: Disappointng organisation and a route that misses much of the best of Edinburgh. In full: Organisation could be much better. The start of the race was poorly signposted;distance markers were lacking;clocks showing the race time were few,if any,;water stations were insufficient, particularly at the end;official parking at Mussleburgh was an absolute shambles, marshals did not arrive on time to open the car park!;the meeting place at the end was chaos and the so called beer festival was one tiny beer tent with queues where poeple waited half an hour to be served. I was disappointed overall.Edinburgh offers so much as a location for a marathon but is being spoilt by poor organisation.Perhaps the city council should take it over and make it a marathon they can be proud of.
