In short: Great race - organisation could have killed someone though. In full: Race very good - nice route with a good mix of suburban crowds to cheer us on and rural lanes to add a bit of scenery. THIS RACE WAS MADE A GREAT EXPERIENCE FOR ME BY THE AMAZING CROWDS OF MANCHESTER - THEY MADE ME PROWD TO COME FROM THIS GREAT CITY. Then to the finish - how somebody didn't die due to a total lack of organisation i do not know - 4-5000 cold wet runners trying to get their bags from a tiny little tent with absolutely no system of what should be where. I got lucky about 30 mins into my wait i saw my bag get passed out of the tent and dumped into a puddle - not great as half my dry gear was now wet - but i got my gear and managed to escape to the gents to get out of my sodden running gear. This level of poor organisation should be criminal. Date of review: April 30, 2012

In short: Did exactly what they said - fast and flat! In full: A fast, flat (but not too exciting) course. Well organised although parking could be improved for the future. Very enjoyable, would definately recommend. Date of review: January 3, 2012

In short: Just what I expected from a marathon. In full: A fairly pleasant course meant 4 hrs running wasn't too dull - but not much to write home about tho. Some very long gaps between toilets. Mile markers were very small - but once i got the idea of where they were then i managed to pick most out. Lots of supporters out along course - brilliant support at finish. Baggage and medal collection abysmal - over 20 mins just to collect my bag! And was there really any need for the mile walk after all that just to get the bus back? The post finish details really need sorting for next year, otherwise pretty good. Date of review: May 23, 2011

In short: Greta warm up for a marathon In full: Excellent race. Really well organised with fantastic support from marshalls / drinks teams. Some rather tough hills which definately left me aching towards the end - but helped bring me back down to earth ready for Edinburgh marathon. Great event to do as build up for a marathon. Well done South Cheshire Harriers for putting this on. Date of review: May 5, 2011
