In short: Different course and a different challenge In full: Very pretty out and back course, although there is nothing sinister on the outward track (roads, flattish fields and meadows) with going pretty firm - I imagine in wet years it will be like a standard xc terrain. Way back far more interesting, slippy climb on narrow tracks, not aided by a few goats trying to elbow their way past (who you will overtake 4 miles further on), and then delightful off road running back down to the lower meadows before an easy run in on roads. Support top drawer, facilities abundant, medal and goody bag second only (probably) to London. Only criticism is the start. Not seperating the pavement meant that slower runners probably joined in at the front, and pedestrians couldn't pass over the bridge. Will be back to get my revenge over the train!!
