In short: The greatest racing experience of my life In full: Absolutely incredible experience. Faultless organisation, a beautiful course which had everything from tough descents to breathtaking descents and a wonderful atmosphere amongst the runners. I enjoyed every step even the hill at Waunfawr at 22 miles and being outsprinted by a guy dressed as a dog at the end! This could become addictive. Date of review: October 30, 2014
In short: A very tough brilliant race In full: I was told the first 5 miles were hilly but i wasn't brave enough to look at the course profile before setting out. We were soon climbing the first hill shortly after leaving Brecon on the 16 mile run to Merthyr Tydfil. Then followed 2 easy miles before entering a field where we were confronted with a steep grass hill leading to a climb of 1000 feet up and over the Brecon Beacons! As the Romans had forgotten to lay tarmac the footing wasn't the easiest and likewise on the 2 miles along the top of the peak before we descended to a tarmac road. The next 6 miles weren't too bad with the odd bump before another 2 hills in the last 3 miles. The last mile was downhill before a slope to the finish at Cafarthfa Castle. Not for the faint hearted but a magnificent course and a run i will never forget. Great training for a hilly marathon. Date of review: September 2, 2013
In short: An enjoyable well organised race In full: After the anti-climax of last year(in terms of the short course)I was hoping for better this year. I wasn't disappointed. Of course the dual carriageway is not as scenic as the parks but was required to accommodate the size of the field. Unlike last year I found I had plenty of room to run and didn't encounter any bottlenecks. There was a slight incline along the dual carriageway but nothing to be unduly concerned about and it was still possible to run a pb (why i did in just outside 1.45 :-)). Over all a well organised enjoyable run. I will be back next year Date of review: October 21, 2011
In short: Excellent In full: Superbly organised, great scenery and a lovely off-road course. Have done this the last 4 years and this was the best so far. Congratulations to all those involved. If you haven't run this give it a go. You won't be disappointed. Will be back next year.
In short: I'm still alive ! In full: Very very testing. I run down there on a regular basis but have never encountered conditions like that. Nevertheless more satisfying when you cross the finish line. Excellent organisation and lovely memento. Can't wait for next year ! Date of review: March 9, 2009
In short: Tough In full: I'm just a novice (only my fifth 10k) but I can't believe I will run many tougher than this. First 5km had a number of long climbs. I was glad to see the 6km marker. (only gripe is that km markers could be more visible). Tough but well worth doing. Date of review: August 30, 2008
In short: Challenging. Great atmosphere In full: My first Tenby 10k. Great support from marshalls and locals. Well organised. Some challenging climbs. Definitely be back next year after doing some hill training ! Date of review: August 3, 2008
