In short: Brilliant to be able to change mind on distance halfway if needed.
In full: At halfway I decided I was unexpectedly OK to carry on for full marathon even though I said Never Again, 9 years ago. I assume the parking costs were part of the deal with the council, but I was surprised to see parking officials actually checking cars on this happy fundraising day. My one surprise was no T-shirt; most races give out an awful one I don't want, but I really wanted a souvenir of this marathon included afterwards. Runners and marshalls all very friendly and I hope to return one day if I eventually recover!!

In full: The car park, even at a fee, was very handy for the start. Sadly the whole thing was spoilt by cars and white vans determined to push through runners on the sections with no pavement. The white van who was dawdling alongside us between miles 1 and 4 should have been dealt with firmly by police but there weren't any. I definitely didn't feel safe. Agree that just a bag at the end with one advert leaflet won't do, but medal was very smart. No problem with water on route, thank goodness.

In full: You saved the day after another race I had entered was cancelled at the last minute after I got there. Lucky Pensford does't start until 1.00 so I got back in time for my Plan B. Thanks for taking my entry on the day. Cakes superb as ever! Race was cold, wet, windy, hilly, and still managed to be brilliant! Thanks marshals, friendly traders and other volunteers. Hope it will take place again next year!

In short: Always a favourite but the climb to Frenchay Common always gets me! Impressed that organisers were full of apologies from the outset about the problem and explained what went wrong. i'll be back next time!

In short: Confusion with start mats; should have been told it was gun start, chip finish.
