In short: great potential....
In full: I looked forward to this race for a long time, the course was flat and scenic... You did have to organise yourself into time pens with no seperation like the big races and the start was really congested. The marshalls varied throughout the race from excellent to bored.I was most surprised that there was no water at the start, i luckily had some, but was planning on a top up, but none in sight - and i checked! Catherine Jenkins was the highlight for many and i did wonder why she was running with a race full of make-up, but then when i saw the course marchalls sneakily filming her on their phone it all became clear - when we followed her for a minute it helped motivate my husband....

In short: Great, but less musical than the last 2
In full: This is the third year this race has been going and the third year i have done this race. This was definatly the best weather of the previous years, organisation like clockwork again, i just missed the music which i appreciated in previous years, it was under every bridge in the past, but more sporadic this year.
Over all an excellent race, well organised, great PB potential - i have improved every year and great for beginners - as i was 3 years ago. Great goody bag too!

In short: Well organised yet tough
In full: This was worth the long journey from home. Well organised, great marshalls cheering on the slower ones like me!
Jelly baby stop at mile 18 was well recieved and certainly kept me going.
Hills were a killer but as the VLM is flat, that will be a piece of cake compared to this!
Definatly will be back, only wish that i had done the earlier races!
Thank you Gade - i wish i lived closer so i could join the club...

In short: my home course, why did we miss the high lights?
In full: I did the 10k due to injury, was VERY surprised to be starting before the half runners, who not long after over-took us with yells of 'get over 10k runners' which i honestly think everyone was trying to do. This was not an ideal race for your first 10K, and if it was mine i might never have done another, marshalling on the 10k was loose to say the least, saw people sneaking off, assuming they were having a sneaky loo break but no, they were taking a short cut when i saw them rejoin a long way in front. Such a shame. No goody bags - only one i got was in the Wetherspoon, saw one Nike marshall on my route - so why is it a nike race?
