In short: Excellent race and great team organising it In full: A big thanks to Mike and his team, a thoroughly great race and good pb potential. We entered two teams and for most of the teams the lap of 6.55 is further than they have run. Mike and the team made us feel very welcome and we raised some money for a local charity. I will be back next year, just hope the weather is slightly better, great race, put it in your calender Date of review: July 17, 2011

In short: Well organised and got a PB In full: First of all I beat last years time and got a PB, so can't complain on that front. This is my local run, so third year I have run it and will continue to do so, well organised and route is challenging. However, goodie bag at end was disappointing, seems to be getting less and less each year, not even a piece of fruit! Come on Maidstone Harriers, a banana wouldn't have gone a miss. In short: Race was ok, but too many negatives In full: The race itself was ok and a possible PB one at that, however too many negatives I'm afraid. Exiting the car park took far to long, not enough toilets and to much of a bottle neck at the start, also quite a way from the HQ to the actual start line. Would however do again as local to me, but if they could sort out another exit for people wanting to get away, this would help the runners coming in and people wanting to leave. In short: My first marathon and as hard as nails for me In full: My first marathon and I loved it, many thanks to all the marshalls and spectators who braved the terrible weather to cheer us on. I never knew there were hills like them around, but rest assured I will be back next year. Date of review: October 24, 2009

In short: Well worth the trip In full: Very nice village event, good atmosphere and setting, some tough bits for me anyway and didn't beat my PB, but having my medal presented to me by Dame Kelly Holmes was worth the trip alone, will be back next year. Date of review: September 6, 2009

In short: No mile markers, although you can gauge your time per lap In full: On a positive note I did beat my PB by 1min 30 secs so happy about that, on a negative note, they could have spaced out the water stations better and started on time is always nice, for me having mile markers is a help and for me does push you on, may return next year if these type of issues are addressed, also a medal would be nice, rather than having another t shirt that will probably end up being used whilst decorating. In short: Enjoyable day, but a tad warm In full: Started running October last year and my previous best was 2.12 at the Paddock Wood Half, was determined to break the 2.00hr mark, but weather against me, finally came in at 1.59,51secs so over the moon. Loved the whole day and will try again next year. Date of review: June 15, 2009
