In short: Good spectator support, lots of water, some elements disappointing
In full: My first marathon,so for a newbie this was a good choice, not too big but with the loops makes it a great place for supporters to see you and be seen.
Negatives: Not nearly enough toilets at the start, repatriation area not big enough - 50m sq for 9000 runners! Congested going between mile 5 and 10 - why only one lane for the runners? and really got slowed down on the overdean loop. The power station stretch has been improved by having the cheer stations down there which did help.
Why did mine, and all my friends garmins show a distance of 26.45 rather than 26.2?
Thought it was very expensive, so probably would find a cheaper option, especially when have to combine it with travel and hotels. Would be good to get the trains to put on extra carriages.

In short: Great organisation, unpleasant weather, challenging hills - good marathon training
In full: I was dreading this races as I am not a hill specialist and everyone said it is really hilly. There are three hills on each lap, but they are pretty short and there is plenty of down and much of it is reasonably flat. The race had to be postponed for 3 weeks because of the snow in January, but the organisation was good, plenty of marshalls getting cold and wet (sharing our pain), and a nice quality technical shirt at the end. A good challenging run to kick start marathon training.

In short: Flat, fast, not too crowded, good support all round. Great for all runners
In full: Whilst the suburbs of Peterborough are not necessarily the most scenic, the support is always cheerful and noisy. The course is flat and fast, and never over crowded, you can get into your pace easily, great for pb's whether you are at the front or back. Good clear marshalling and 4 water stations. Good as a first time half marathon or for experienced runners keen to hit the times.

In short: Great organisation, nice technical T-shirt, great marshalls
In full: The blistering heat rather took the enjoyment out of this race for me, but I would definitely give it another go. Bit of a bottle neck out of the park onto the road in the first 500m, which could perhaps be solved. Other than that, excellent organisation, plenty of free parking, plenty of water (though I was tempted to just jump in the river), good technical tshirt, and a packet of crisps and mars bar at the end. Well done Riverside, hope it is back next year!

In short: Good support, not too crowded, great PB potential
In full: The route winds through the suburbs of Peterborough with residents on the street cheering you on which makes up for the slightly dull scenary. Flat as a pancake so the potential for PBs is excellent; not too crowded and with excellent organisation. Thanks for the free parking voucher!

In short: Flat, good crowds, plenty of water stations
In full: Running through Peterborough suburbia is not the most scenic, but well organised and well marshalled. AT 3500 runners not to busy, so can get into a good stride right at the start. Good crowd support all the way round, and water stations every 3 miles. This was my second half marathon, and I really enjoyed it.
