In short: Beautiful Brutal
In full: What a fantastic race. The weather turned up and the whole atmosphere and surroundings seemed to make the pain, of which there was plenty, more bearable. I would recommend it to anyone, a proper feelgood race.

I would however question the sanity of any person going round twice.....respect!

In short: Great race, a few minor niggles but nothing that can't be sorted...
In full: Turned up in glorious sunshine ran a super-fat PB for me 1:29 which took even me by surprise. A great course with lots of support and real potential.....the start was a bit crowded and if numbers go up that may continue to cause problems but after that there was loads of space......shame about the collapsng finish banner and the apparent loss of a starting gun which did feel a bit farcical but maybe I'm just being picky....the important things were done brilliantly and showcased the city in a way to do the organisers proud...well done alan and team...

In short: hills, hills, hills.....lots up, lots down.......well worth it....
In full: A great little race in a stunning setting, hills aplenty but a great atmosphere and great organisation made it a race I'd run again....certainly blows away the January cobwebs.....phew...!

In short: felt difficult...but the time surprised.......
In full: great organisation right from the start....hill at the start then a lot of subtle rolling terrain throughout..... closed roads, pleasant countryside and what goes up, must come down....a lightning finish...! A 4 minute PB where it wasn't expected and very nearly a dip under 1h 30...!

Not quite sure about the whole Ipod ban thing myself....I don't use one but know several people who do and it almost seemed like the organisers went looking for people with them at one point....which is a shame given that on the entry form it only recommended they were not used, not forbidden... its all a bit OTT, but I guess we've done that one to death before....still it's not really against the rules is it...? Latest RW Dec 2008 p62 makes it quite clear..

In short: One you MUST do....!
In full: Chose this as my first marathon and absolutely loved it. Had an 800 mile round trip with the family so was a major undertaking but everything about Inverness was great for us all.

As for the race, the transport to the start was so well organised and I could not believe how amazing it was at the start line as the weather had come good too.

The first few miles were nice and compact with a few ups and downs but incredibly pleasant. Alongside the loch the long stretch there were so many folks to speak to and everyone was so friendly.

As for the hill, I was ready for them and managed ok, only after the hill did I realise the effect they had made...! The last few miles were mainly flat and downhill, all the support coming into town helped most of the pain disappear.

The finish was great, so well organised and plenty of goodies for immediate recovery and the family on hand. All in all, a perfect end to a perfect day.....plus it's the most work I've ever had to do for a jar of pickled onions.....!
