In short: A run through the Mountains of Mourne
In full: The half marathon started with a short distance on tarmac before heading off into the hills. This is a tough race across open hills and around the mountains. There is plenty of tough hilly sections with stunning scenery. An excellent race but forget any hopes of a personal best. Trail shoes are a benefit in my opinion. Best word to describe this event is BRUTAL.
