In short: Awesome!
In full: Arrived, parked (quickly), 100 yards to registration, got number, queued for loo (<3 mins), all sorted. Went back to car to wait for race start it was so quick to get everything done!

Race route well marked, well marshalled, well catered for.

Unique route with Top Gear track included, although bulk is on Surrey's green and verdant lanes.

Great day out, super friendly event organiser, couldn't really have asked for more.

In short: Hills, glorius hills, and fantastic views
In full: What a fantastic day out, helped by the weather and the views. Hilly and makes the legs ache.

The first leg is very steep but the rest is all v.runable. The second leg has a run alongside the A24 (plans afoot to remove this bit according to race director) but to be honest I was glad to have some flattish tarmac to recover a bit. The third leg has the most fantastic views.

The medal is a piece of quality and thank goodness no t-shirt (I just don't need another).

Great Race

In short: Well organised 10km with slightly hilly profile, good value - great views
In full: Local 10km race (ran whilst on holiday). Good value at £10 for on the day entry, money raised goes to local school that organises the race. Thank goodness no t-shirt (I don't need them and prefer the lower cost). Nice tea and cake post event.

Course climbs steadily for 4k, with a loop of tracks at the top and returns down a fast steady road downhill before turning back into Pickering. Last km slightly uphill but only just.

Water at around 4k and 6k (same station passed twice as loops cross over).

Some of the views are worth stopping to admire (or go back later)

In short: Fantastic route, great views, well organised (and great weather)
In full: Great new route from Denbies, plenty of aid stations, well stocked with PowerBar, jelly babies etc. Plenty of marshalls in the right places and nice to see them cheering runners on. A good number of supporters out on route as well for trail run.

Weather was awesome.

Got to borrow a nice t-shirt from the Gore stand to try in the run. Got a nice massage post race from FineFettle. Got given a bottle of beer. Couldn't have had a better day out.

In short: Awesome run course, what a view
In full: OK so the course isn't for PBs but I'd rather run this than a trading estate every day of the week. Mildly hilly trail run on good tracks with great views. Loads of cheering marshals. Windy, warm and dry made for a superb run.

Quick dispensing of drink, t-shirt and chocolate. Don't need a goody bag of rubbish (and didn't really need a t-shirt). Great massage for a small donation to charity.

Well done all, thank you for getting up early and finishing late. Putting these runs on takes a lot of effort.

In short: Great course, magnificant scenary, the odd up/down. V.efficiently ran race.
In full: What a day, breezy, but warm, course wasn't muddy which is a bonus! Hills hadn't shrunk. Some great views - this is the whole reason I run.

Big hand for coming back to apologise. Thank you.

P.S. - By all means raise issues about the organsiers/organisation - that is after all what the feedback is for.

In short: Awesome scenary, what a route. A must for trail runners
In full: OK - 3 runners got sent the wrong way by a misguided marshall giving up their Sunday morning to stand around in -3 DegC. Calling them and the race organisers morons is bang out of order. If I meet you at a race watch out.

Marshalls rarely know how far you have to run - that is your job as a runner. Do you expect them to know your position as well? By category? Maybe encourage you by name based on total recall of numbers/names. Get real.

I for one thank the young girls (guides?) who turn up to marshall these events. If they make an error I still thank them.

Please tell me you have marshalled other events and helped out the girl guides with their events occaisionally. If not - shame on you.

Oddly one of the marshalls complained to me about one of the front runners being rude to them - nice touch, I am sure they appreciate that. What a gent.

I viewed the map and got round fine, no mistakes. Although I am not that quick! However if I was quicker then surely course preparation is even more important.

Now for my review.

What a course. Out of Denbies, through subway, and over stepping stones, up steps, steep ones, all the way to the top of Boxhill, lungs busting and out onto the viewpoint. Turn left past the National Trust shop and down the Burford slope. Always fun running down this, wide open grassland and excellent views. Back to Denbies.
Loop 2 - Out on the A24 for a short distance, turn left and uphill on a quiet lane, then into Norbury Park. Woodland run with some great view points, then past Norbury House with some good views of the Mole Valley. Turn onto A24 and thank goodness a 2+mile slightly downhill run back to Denbies.
Loop 3 - Out of Denbies on one of my favourite tracks (when running down, not up). Excellent views over Dorking, good track to make a last effort on. Ice in the drinks at the water station at the top - bloody marshalls - they should have kept the drinks warm with their bodies. Either that or it wsa just too cold. Final headlong fling downhill towards Denbies and the finish.

6 drinks stops, all with jelly babies, gels and water. A nice little medal, a bottle of beer and if I wanted it a Bounty (but a bloody front runner apparently took the Mars Bar I wanted - what a moron).

Awesome route, awesome day, thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be back next year and expect the organisers will run a top notch race like they usually do.

Meface

P.S. 9 toilets & urinals (3 outside near the start and 3+urinals for men inside Denbies and I presume the womens had another 3 as well - didn't check). They have a cafe that seats 200 did you not think that it would also have toilets: moron

I would be sorry three of the front runners races were ruined, I really would be, but the comments made about volunteers are bang out of order: therefore I struggle to raise sympathy.
