In short: Fantastic organisation and beautiful surroundings!
In full: First couple of miles are downhill which I love, mildly challenging hills at 6 and just before 12 miles, lovely route throught the forest. Excellent organisation, well marshalled and well supported. I don't quite understand why some runners shut themselves off with iPods, they missed the birdsong. This has been a race I have wanted to do for the last couple of years, glad I managed to make it this year. Nice medal for all finishers and a tech shirt for the first 50 men & women. I believe that the correct decision was made in postponing the race by 2 weeks, the amount of snow that was covering the midlands on the original weekend would have prevented many entrants getting to the start, thank you for making that call and for rearranging the date so quickly, it's was much appreciated!

In short: Thoroughly enjoyable!
In full: A fairly challenging 10 k race due to muddy conditions, but for an off road run & with the weather refusing to move into spring it's just as you would expect. I thought it was well organised and I was very appreciative of the cheerful marshals who must have been standing out in the cold weather for some considerable time. Can I suggest using marker tape in a couple of the places where the route was less obvious? It was fairly cheap to enter (£10) so thought the memento was sufficient. I will be back! :-)

In short: In my opinion this should be voted number 1 race of the year!
In full: My first time at Chester and how great it was! The organisers have everything 100% spot on, not the cheapest to enter but most certainly value for money. The venue was good, route fantastic, support and friendliness outstanding!

Although not a flat course I couldn't agree that there were hills, undulations yes, but not hills. I rather prefer this type of course anyway, flat is boring and can be harder work.

There is so much that I could say but I wont ramble on. Pity I lived to far away to meet up for the training runs, I think that was a particularly nice touch. Whenever I am ready to run a marathon again I am pretty sure it will be this one. Just one downside and that was the start & finish on the muddy, slippery track. I did manage to bag an excellent PB though!

A big thank you to everyone involved in making this a most perfect event!

In short: A great endurance race!
In full: I have run this 4 times now, it's great for building endurance but very hard work! I struggled more than usual this year, maybe due to heat/humidity but still managed to get in under 3 hours *just*
To the person who didn't understand the first loop round - this helps to string out the runners a bit so the fast guys aren't caught up behind us mid/slow paced runners at the kissing gate etc and the remark on it being more than 18 mies = well it should be, it is advertised as 30k not 18 miles. Big thanks to all involved in the organisation and on the day!

In short: More challenging than usual....
In full: My fourth year in a row at this event and each time the conditions make it a different run, this year it was the mud and puddles, I chose to run through them instead of zig-zagging like some, I am sure it was firmer under foot that way. Was the tunnel darker? I lost my nerve in the tunnel this year, I usually cope better than I did. The marshals were as supportive as ever, the organisation was like clockwork, can't wait to see what next year has to offer! :-) Thanks to all involved.

In short: A great running festival!
In full: Mud like you have never seen before! It wasn't like this last year but then we hadn't had the quantity of rain. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Great value, great atmosphere, great marshalling, smooth as clockwork. VERY challenging but that added to the fun. It made it all the more challenging and there was a great friendly spirit amongst the runners. I did see a few bloodied knees saturday but to be fair that is the toughest course.

I am confused by Mr Richardson's comments, he says he has done the half twice before, therefor surely he must have known the course would be very wet & slippery and should have chosen his footwear more carefully. I don't know why he didn't hear the safety brief, I heard it pre race more than once. heyho...

In short: Very well organised....
In full: This was my first time at this event although I knew much of the course from Oakley 20. A very well organised race, I believe this was their 30th so no surprise at how slick it was. There had been a road closure doe to an RTA but the organisers kept us very well informed, the race started 10 mins late to give runners time to get to the start having been diverted round the course. A rural run with nice views, occasional public support, good marshalling. Finishers get a medal & bottle of water, no frill but for £10 I have no complaints. A slight mix up on the prizes was soon rectified. Thanks you to the race organisers, I plan to put this one on my race calendar!

In short: 2nd year of running this and I hope to be back again next year!
In full: Extremely well organised, marshals that were very enthusiastic with there support. Nicely undulating and fairly quiet roads. I would certainly recommend this race !

In short: Badly organised!!
In full: I entered the 21 mile race after having contacted the organisers to ask if the course was marked as I was concerned I would get lost, I was told it would be well marked and there would be marshals on the course and maps would also be given out. In the first 9 miles I saw 2 markers and marshal at 9 mile check point, up to this point lots of people had taken wrong turns, I fortunately had teamed up with others but it was only by luck and stopping to check maps and confer at every point that we hadn't got lost, I couldn't enjoy the run so chose to take the 2 mile road route back so quit the run. On my return runners from the 6 mile were returning but no officials were there to see who had made it back, I found out that they ran out of maps so sone runners on 6&12 runs didn't have any instructions to follow!! Also was told there were refreshments on route, first water was at 9 miles! Totally shocking and would not recommend this run. The organisers can get it right though as I ran an earlier event by BHF at Portsmouth and couldn't have rated the organisation and marked course higher, it was excellent.

In short: Why haven't I done this before??
In full: A fantastically well organised race, relaxed, friendly and cheerful marshals, plenty of water stations, not that well supported until towards the finish but then that is to be expected. Organisation was like clockwork! I will most definitely be back again.
The undulations in the first 17ish miles were hardly noticeable although I am sure that it must have taxed the legs a bit, the last 3-4 miles with 2 steep downhills were an absolute gift if like me you are prepared to just let yourself go for it, certainly woke the legs up again!! Such a scenic course as well.
