In short: Another year another well organised fast race In full: Yet again the organisers did a good job. Better this year in so far as the only incline (slip road to get over A4) was in first 2K rather than at 7K. Crowds in centre were brilliant which always makes for a superb finish Date of review: May 7, 2013

In short: What a change from last year - really good race and points taken on bpard In full: Ran the race last year and even without weather issues there would have been problems but as for this year the organisers have certainly taken on board issues and in general corrected them. The course, even with its loops back on itself was more friendly and actually led to larger crowds at more points. The people of Altrincham again did themselves proud but also the crowds at the the top of Brooklands Road were phenomonal coming back up to the top of Brooklands Road was like at the top of a climb on the Tour de France - the spectators narrowed the course (not a problem) and it was like going through a sound tunnel - Brilliant. The bag pick up was brilliant this year and worked superbly. As for the weather if you could ask for a perfect day for a marathon that is what you would ask for. A superfast course I think everyone I spoke to after the race had set PB's and big ones at that (me included). Only gripe was the mile markers seemed to be non existent - not a problem if like me you have a Garmin but really should have been more prominent. Water Stations really well run and Marshalling in general was superb. Thankyou Oraganisers, Spectators and Marshalls for making it a very good day. Date of review: April 30, 2013

In short: First time and won't be last In full: From arriving to leaving the organisation was superb. As for the race it too was really good even if Spring Hill was challenging. The spectators out on the course kept everyone going even when it was tough. The Marshalls were superb. Date of review: March 1, 2013

In short: Great Organisation and brilliant Marshalls In full: Not a race I would do again due to is being a 3 lap race. However as far as Organisation went it was teriffic. The marshalls were the best I have come across at any race I have done - usually you get the odd Marshall who does not want to be there but every one here was smiling and encouraging they were brilliant. In short: Hilly but enjoyable In full: Not so sure about the picking up of numbers before race as this was a bit hectic but FairPlay to organisers the race still started on time. Marshalls around course were excellent and so encouraging. Not a PB race but the hills are not overly hard they just test you. Well done again Date of review: October 14, 2012

In short: Well organised but tough course In full: This was very well organised and the course, although alot more hilly than the gently undulating quote used by organisers, was very pleasing to run. Not often you get water in bottles at each water station on local races and this was brilliant. Date of review: September 4, 2012

In short: Pleasant Friday Night race In full: Organisation was good and the friendliness of everyone was brilliant. The inclines on the course made it a non PB event but overall they made for a tougher run. Date of review: July 2, 2012

In short: Great PB Potential and well organised In full: Organisation was very good although not a great race for spectators to be able to move between points due to route. Virtually flat and very quick. Great finishing area lots of space. Date of review: May 21, 2012

In short: Shame about the Organisation at start and finish In full: Firstly the massive positives - Marshalls were brilliant out in that foul weather as for crowds well what more can be said - seeing wetaher in morning I expected limited people to brave it and come out to cheer how wrong could I be they were there in their numbers and were awesome, the noise of the crowd as you went through Altrincham was unbelievable - so massive thanks to Crowd and Marshalls. the course was very good and quick as well yes there were issues through Dunham massey butn this was due the weather and would have been fine otherwise.
Now for negatives and these were major. No time had been taken to think what might happen if we had had inclement weather so both the at the start and the finish the organisation in the village was appalling and actually that is all I have to say as otherwise I could be here all day. In short: Getting better each year In full: Now they seem to have found a route they can stick to each year (and a good fast route)this race is getting better each year. the weather made it even better (what chance of no wind down on marshes??). Great thanks to the young children helping at the water stations just need to learn when to leave go of cup - but seriously it was great to see so many of them helping. The marshalling problems of earlier years seems to be resolved now and hopefully for future as this is a great race to see where you are at speed wise. Date of review: March 12, 2012
