In short: Challenging HM but well worth the effort
In full: First time for me, so didn't know what to expect but despite the snow, sleet & rain and the steep hill after 6 miles, I really enjoyed it. Fair play to the marshals who endured the weather - at least us runners were moving! Well done to all concerned!

In short: The best marathon event I've taken part in - thoroughly recommend it
In full: I absolutely loved this event. Its my 5th marathon (done Edinburgh, Greater Manchester and Robin Hood x 2) and my most enjoyable. The run along the New Brighton promenade was uplifting, the tunnel run was unforgettable, the noise at the tunnel-end was thunderous and the support in Liverpool was fantastic. The organisation was clockwork (including parking at Liverpool One and shuttle-bus to Birkenhead)and I'm really struggling to think of any criticism....alright, the chocolate energy bar at the finish was like a 1970s dried-up dog turd, but who cares? I haven't stopped smiling since Sunday....Will be back next year

In short: Fast course, good support and a great stadium finish
In full: 3rd time I've done this race - its special because of the stadium finish, love it. Route is a bit dull, but well supported in the City Centre and the turning point. Got a PB but the heat made it a grim experience. Only criticisms are low quality T-shirt and problems getting out of the ice rink car park afterwards, but minor gripes only. I'll be back!

In short: Top event, organisation like clock-work, will definitely do again next year!
In full: Ran the marathon for the 2nd year running and thoroughly enjoyed the event (apart from the last few miles of suffering before reaching the finish line). The whole day went like clock-work and I've not a single gripe. Will be back next year.

In short: Hard work but very rewarding - and fantastic scenery!
In full: 1st time doing this race and it was a great experience. Bizarrely, I enjoyed the 7 miles uphill to the summit above Wessenden Head Reservoir, but then struggled on the final 3 miles downhill to Marsden. What's that all about? Highlights were the breathtaking scenery, reaching the summit at 7 miles, crossing the finish line and the tea & pasties afterwards. Will definitely be back next year!

In short: If ever a marathon event could be described as a thoroughlu uplifting experience, this was it!
In full: I got home from this event absolutely delighted with the whole day (apart from pain of the marathon itself!). I thought the event was hassle-free, loads of toilets, efficient kit drop-off, lots of freebie energy products, loads of encouraging and helpful stewards, good support and an interesting route for someone unfamiliar with Nottingham, like myself. I can't think of a single negative aspect to the event.

In short: A great race in a great city - only problem was the unseasonal heat!
