In short: Starting to become like the Great North Run - overcrowded In full: The new start and finsh area, while a good idea, were far too crowded. Perhaps for 2007 the organisers could make them runners only areas. There was no announcement as to why the start was delayed, only that it was delayed. The start pens need better marshalling, perhaps spectators could be prevented from getting into Anchor Road? Finally on the Portway, I know the TA are volunteers, but is it possible for them to open the water bottles before we get to the water stations? Date of review: September 22, 2006
In short: I hope I'll be back next year for number 25. In full: Mr Foster can you answer the following:- 1) Why does this race not use timing chips as in London & Bristol? 2) Why does it take the GNR a month to publish full results when Bristol can publish all their's in a week? 3) Will those who have done all GNRs get special treatment for 2005 e.g. discounted entry? 4) Could you please, please get the Emmerdale/Casualty/Heartbeat/Blue Peter/ BBC Sport & Weather celebrities to line up according to their allocated numbers instead of in front of the Red Numbers - we should be there, as we've done all the GNRs they line up there for self publicity. 5) How about getting Sue Barker to run next year? 6) How about yourself, Steve Cram and Liz McGolgan getting out of the commentry box and running in 2005. 7) Could the BBC show more of the masses and not concentrate on the elite so much. It is the masses who make this race.
