In short: Wish the wind machine had been turned off!! In full: Overall the atmosphere and organisation couldn't be faulted, the weather was cold and windy but on the plus side it wasn't raining, the course was well set out and marshalls very encouraging and friendly, the potaloos were fine a small queue but no real problem, the grass finish did not help my knee but that is the only adverse comment I could have about the race. In short: Could not fault ANYTHING about this race In full: First time I have run this race and this distance, organisation from the start was brilliant, even saying turn off the SatNav and follow signs on the instructions was a great organisational plus, carparking was easy and free, walk to the start line was easy, toilets were portaloos with no great queues. Run itself was a pleasant mix of road and offroad 2 "water" stations which was plentiful, the one part of the course I found very tough was the hill around the 4 mile mark, but hey ho it's a hill. Finish was slightly downhill which is always an advantage. Nice medal and the pint of Pimms at £3.00 was a bargain. Will be back next year with at least 3 other people. Date of review: June 7, 2012

In short: Good run, well marshalled and enjoyable as well as challenging Good quality medal and a mug! In full: The marshals were great very encouraging even the lady after about 800 yards said well done!! I ran this last year and I don't know if it was the change of date again but the number of runners was well down which made for a "flatter" atmosphere but having said that I achieved a personal best for the distance which I am very pleased about. In closing whoever thought the mug was a good idea was right !! Great little touch Date of review: March 25, 2012

In short: Great Atmosphere and lovely people along the course In full: This was my first and only half marathon but having done the training for it I found the course challenging with some very uphill bits but I got up them and the last 3 miles being all downhill was an incentive to finish!! As others have said the goody bag was a complete waste of time, I haven't a clue what the leaflets were about as they all went in the recycling bin when we got home, with the cost of the run I thought another £10.00 for the T Shirt was taking the P***, but overall the people along the course and other runners were great and I would do this race again but I don't think my body would let me!! Thanks to all the great people at the water stations and the ones who put up the signs on THAT hill. I thought the sponges were a good idea. Date of review: September 26, 2011

In short: Great organisation and great atmosphere with great support In full: As others have said the second drinks station should have been water and more Gatorade at the finish, the wasteage is something which should be changed, overall this is a great event but as it becomes more popular the small touches seem to get less which is a shame, also I much prefer the old start with seperate boys and girls but I will be back next year!! In short: Nice atmosphere and achieved a PB!!! In full: One of my favourite races, for personal reasons but this year was a PB which was very pleasing, long hill towards 7k is very challenging and with the damp conditions so was the final bit across the school field, but overall a good race and will be back next year. Only downer was I didnt get a chocolate bar and didn't see any !! Date of review: November 1, 2010

In short: Organisation at the start was not good, really missed the warm up, rest of race was fine In full: As people have said before, the start was too crowded, in past years it has been split male and female, which has been fine as it meant a far less crowded rush down the hill, perhaps next year they could put the gp runners and faster ones on one side and the others on the other, but apart from that everything else was fine, the marshals and water station people were great and well organised and encouragement came from various sources especially the guy on London Road with his foot in a plaster cast, T Shirt and Goody bag was well worth it, plus the weather God made it a far better temperature than last year, will be back next year.
