In short: how tough was that? might have to stick to the roads in future. In full: Plain Crazy? And so it was. I live in a town and I generally run 2 or 3 half-marathons every year and entered this one as I thought it was going to be a road race. I found the off-road bits very hard going and ended up walking a few times, especially up the last long hill, something I've never done before. I had to laugh when I read that one or two of the lads were a little disappointed that the course measured only 12.7 miles. Personally, if it had been the full 14, I might still be out there now, which would have made it tricky to get away from the car park, as I needed a push from a friendly co-runner to extricate my car from the roadside. All in all, I'm glad I experienced it, though I may not be back - fair play to all of you tearing along further forward. Also many thanks to all the helpers, especially the man in the van - that cup of tea was borderline lifesaver. Cheers. Date of review: December 27, 2010
