In short: Watch out for the big hill twice!!! In full: Back for the second year to do this and the course had been changed back to normal. A lot harder than the 1st time with the steep hill being done twice! Mike and the team have the organisation down to a tee and the marshalls were very helpful and full of encouragement. In short: A quick half hour suitable for any level In full: This was my 1st 5k and knowing Winchester well I got to see some things I never had before. A good mix of club and general runners and the atmosphere was good despite the downpour.
I recommend this to a beginner as it is flat and quite nice as you run through the cathedral grounds.
The start could have been a bit better organized but on a street that was still open to traffic was understandable Date of review: July 17, 2009

In short: Those hills are tough In full: This was my first 10k and enjoyed the challenge of the hills. Will definately be back next year.
Also good for spectators as there are lots of places to watch.
The final 1 1/2 km is excellent down the hill and onto lodge drive good end to stretch those tired legs. Date of review: March 2, 2009

In short: A good first 10 miler to do bit disappointed about being at the back In full: This was my first 10 mile race and enjoyed the experience BUT being a "beginner" i was allocated Green wave C and spent the whole race dodging slower runners and even passing White and Orange numbers on my way round. I stated i was aiming to run it in 90 minutes but i don't think they took any notice of that and my time of 94 minutes would have been a lot faster had i been in a higher grouping.
Did really enjoy the race and a fast course convinced me to come back and do it again at a faster time! Date of review: October 28, 2008
