In short: Complete waste of time and money
In full: The golden rule of setting a course is that the first couple of kilometres must be wide enough to enable the field to settle, with faster runners being able to pass slower ones safely. The ridiculously narrow course, compounded by the hairpin turn after 1.5k (which effectively reduced the available width by half) was totally unsuitable. My race was ruined by 2km, by which point I was already 2 mins off my target. The race information indicated that the start would be staggered to mitigate against this problem. It was not. Load of old rubbish.

In short: Fast, flat course
In full: Good PB potential, pretty much flat from start to finish. Good start/finish facilities, great stadium finish and results were posted very quickly. Scenery was fantastic if you're a fan of the industrial zone from The Crystal Maze.

In short: Some good scenery, a biggish hill and a hell of a lot of rain
In full: The course was fairly challenging and I'm sure it would've been a lot more pleasant if the rain had held off. The last kilometre in the park was slippery in places, but in general it was an enjoyable race.

It makes a nice change to have a mid-week evening race.

In short: Flat and windy
In full: The grandstand finish was great, and some of the scenery was nice, but overall there were too many things wrong to want to go back. They've already been mentioned, so I don't need to keep going on about them.

Has the potential to be a great race, but needs work!

In short: Fast but dull
In full: Very little undulation. Results were available very quickly. Enough has been said about the laps of the business park already. Scenery wasn't bad once that was out of the way. Delays getting out of the car park at the end.

In short: Great scenery and weather. Well organised and very welcoming.
In full: This was my first ever race. I was a little nervous about knowing where to go and what to do, but the organisers were extremely halpful. Had a fantastic time, the weather was perfect and the course was pretty flat for the most part. Reading last year's reviews I wasn't sure if the hill at 7k would be Mount Everest or just a small ruffle in the ground. It turned out to be not too steep but reasonably long.

The race started in quite a narrow lane. I spent the fist 1500m being boxed in, but I guess it's for me to make sure I start in the right place next time.
