In short: If you like Chippenham Half, you'll love this In full: For a first time running of the event it was extremely well done. Not as flat as expected but a nice challenge. It reminded me a lot of Chippenham Half marathon - beautiful scenery, excellent organisation (even some concerns over car parking did not materialise), friendly marhsalls and a real community feel to it BUT only 300 people made it a really special event. Support around the course was minimal but the finish was very lively and I expect the enthusiastic PA announcer is as tired as many of the runners this evening! Thank you to everyone involved. In short: Sort the start out! In full: Ok rant first! Standing close to the 1hr 30 pace maker and listening to people saying they were aiming for around 2 hours was always going to be a bad omen and it turned out to be true. People were tripping over each other and even saw one guy run into a post trying to get round people who clearly were going to get nowhere near where they were starting. Organisers have to get coloured pens sorted like other big city halfs, particularly as first couple of miles were so narrow!
Once out of the initial melé, great route, well supported, well marshalled and great for PB's. Date of review: October 17, 2010
