In short: Glad I did the race but it is not quite as good as it used to be.
In full: One of my regular races but the change of Race HQ, and a somewhat chaotic start (mainly due to utterly impatient motorists) meant that to me the overall enjoyment of the race as a whole has slipped a tad. Nevertheless, I appreciate the huge difficulties there are in hosting an event so I am grateful that there is a race at all - long may it continue. Apart from the begining and end the course is quite scenic and the marshals cheery and encouraging. A few tweaks here and there could bring it back to the high standard it once was but hats off to Royston Runners for another generally good event. Nice momento, too.

In short: First time I have done this race and was pleasantly surprised
In full: The information regarding the park and ride system was excellent but due to various factors on route (which were NOT the fault of Bedford Harriers - I was re-routed by police and given incorrect directions) I was among many that only just made the start with seconds to spare. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the race and the atmosphere at the Race HQ. The marshals were very encouraging and the organistaion overall was very good. I will definitely do this race again. A few inclines but the only one that hurt was the final one but as it was the final climb to the finish it was worth the pain. Well done Harriers. A great race.

In short: The usual tough, well marshalled enjoyable race.
In full: Although not a notoriously muddy course the challenge of the race is the almost constant undulations and uneven ground. It is a two lapper but there is one short, sharp incline that has to be tackled three times. Probably not a race for a first timer but certainly one of my favourites despite - or is that because of - the hills.

In short: Great race and organisation as always.
In full: One of my "must do's" of the year. Tough up's but some nice down's as well. The trips round the houses aren't great but it is a small price to pay for a superb morning's running.

In short: Challenging, but not unpleasantly so.
In full: Although not a really a x-country fan I enjoy this race. Good mix of up, down and flat(ish) sections. Excellent for spectators too as the race circumnavigates the main body of a hill. Pity there did not seem to be many runners taking advantage of what was a very good race in all respects.

In short: Enjoyed it once again
In full: Having done this race several times it is nice to know where the tough bits are, and of course where the "easier" parts are. Great event that I try to do every year.

In short: Slick and smooth
In full: Great event as always and well marshalled. One slight gripe is that kids at drink stations could perhaps be shown how to hold drinks so that runners can grab them easily. But I thank them all the same for their efforts.

In short: One of my "must do's of the year".
In full: Exceptionally good event. Always cold but soon warmed by the run and the whole atmosphere of the event.
