In short: Free beer at the end! In full: A great event organised by runners for runners ... with free beer at the end. Just don't sit down in the nettles to drink it.
Really enjoyed the race and my family managed to catch me in three locations which lifted the spirits each time.
Great band as you crossed over a little bridge for the last mile and full credit to Gillingham Trotters for thinking of everything. Date of review: May 9, 2013

Quick, a few undulations, and extremely well organised. Cheap too. Hats off to the organisers.

2012 ASICS Fleet pre-London Half Marathon
 | | Overall score | | 100% | | Would you do it again? | | Yes | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 60% | | PB potential | | 60% | | Atmosphere | | 80% | | Organisation | | 100% | | Value | | 80% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 80% |
In short: Excellent pre-London event for all levels In full: An excellently organised event with fantastic marshalls from start to finish, not forgeting the baggage tent which was superbly staffed.
Plenty of loos although most people did not see those at the end of the baggage tent for a while ... which took the pressure of my vist (TMI - sorry).
The course does go up and down quite a bit, however the support through Fleet is noisy for all the right reasons and the localised pockets around the course equally so.
I found the energy drinks at miles 9 & 11 by accident as I wanted water both times and it was definitely a case of bleurrgh-OMG that was so sweet! so maybe they can be flagged more clearly to all runners.
I chose this race over my local event - Reading-as it was cheaper and fitted better with my spring marathon plans and it was easy enough to park within a few minutes of the start without any hassle.
Well done to all at Fleet & Crookham. Date of review: March 31, 2012

2011 The Priory 10K

In short: A low-key event that over-delivers In full: The Priory 10k is really well organised by a friendly team. It's quite a low key event and it attracts mostly locals from Berkshire and Hampshire as it begins to establish itself.
The route I would describe as undulating, with nothing scary but not quite enough flat stretches to sustain a rhythmn and a few little bumps to keep you on your toes. It's two loops of rural lanes, well marshalled and very friendly.
On Sunday, the biggest challenges were the gusting winds a mile from the finish - certainly made me work hard! - and my own desire to self-destruct by starting too quickly. Date of review: May 26, 2011

2011 Shinfield 10K
 | | Overall score | | 60% | | Would you do it again? | | Yes | | | | Details: | | Scenery | | 60% | | PB potential | | 80% | | Atmosphere | | 60% | | Organisation | | 80% | | Value | | 100% | | Beginner-friendliness | | 80% |
In short: Windy, Hot, ... but short on my Garmin?!! In full: I decided to enter Shinfield 10K on the day and found it to be friendly, well-organised and with plenty of marshalls to help on the course. It was quite hot and windy out there but a reasonably fast course with just a few bumps meant it passed without incident.
I have to question the distance though, as it came up short on my Garmin. Date of review: May 2, 2011

In short: Abingdon and Dusted In full: In a nutshell?
Excellent facilities at the start and finish. 200+ volunteers looking after you on the way round. A course as flat as flat as a pancake with a stadium finish.
All you could want from an Aumtumn marathon and more. The effort and dedication of everyone at Abingdon should be applauded. You even get free tea and biscuits.
Very well done to all involved, all those who leneded support and all those who competed.

In short: Chippenham Half Marathon delivers to the letter In full: Not even the closed M4 could prevent this event from running like clockwork.
The course is pretty quick with the last mile being mostly downhill but there is definitely an ascent between 10 & 12 to look out for.
The weather was hot & sunny; the marshalls and supporters were both friendly and vocal; and in the middle of nowhere, S-Club 7 blared from a country stereo!!!
A great day out - please don't rush sign up for this next year as I want to guarantee my place first. Date of review: September 13, 2010

2010 Tadley Runners Summer 10K

In short: Tadley 10k - simple, yet effective In full: A very well organised event, with a friendly mix of club runners, improvers and first-timers. The course is playful and certainly undulates with the bump at 8k a "nice" surprise for tired legs.
My second year on this course and I took nearly four minutes of my PB! Date of review: July 5, 2010
