In short: Excellent starting and finishing in the Don Valley Stadium (sadly for the last time though!)
In full: Living in Sheffield this is a must do race for me. Easy to get to and park. Fantastic atmosphere in the stadium (interested to see where we will be next year!), very friendly crowd of runners. Most parts of the run have spectators (but a little thin on the ground at Brightside) Fantastic support particularly in the stadium, City Centre Bramall Lane and Ecclesall Road - awesome running up and down there, the crowd lift your feet and your spirits! Plenty of water stations, well managed.

In short: Tough but well worth turning up for, fantastic atmosphere
In full: I did this one last year for the first time and was determined to come back for more. Yes it has a couple of tough hills and there is an amazing downhill one which takes some nerve to speed up but it is interesting. The organisation is ace and the atmosphere is great. I managed to knock 2.5 minutes off my time from 2012 so need to come back to try even better. In spite of the awful weather this was definitely a good race. Really appreciated the long sleeved tee shirt. People are just so friendly! Just do it!!

In short: Worth coming back for every year
In full: I love this race. Yes the last couple of miles have a couple of hills, but hey we are up north! I ran a PB for this race this year (48.13) and got a prize for 2nd place F Vet 55 so feeling pretty good. Glorious weather (just a little cold defrosting the car before setting off!). Very friendly and as I am an unattached runner that helps! Everyone was great. Will be back in 2013 for sure.

In short: Glorious and I am not just biased because I got a PB!
In full: Well organised. Parking at the finish and getting a bus to the start was different but then it was great finishing only a short walk from the car park! And the buses were not too crowded (my one fear!) Glad the weather was so kind to us, a wet and windy day might have felt awful! Met some lovely, friendly people! The trail was good for running and great being traffic free. Not too many walkers or cyclists on the route and everyone was keen to share the path. I had no problems. Enough water stations, nice goodies to eat at the end. Good shower and changing facilities at the end. I will definitely be back next year. And will be aiming to come first in my vet class rather than second. Need to work even harder on the speed! Feeling very happy right now.

In short: Great starting and finishing in Endcliffe Park, challenging in parts!
In full: I love this one, and the fact it is so near home helps too. The course is two laps and mainly trails and the park - more of a challenge than just road running. Nice atmosphere in the park. My only gripe is the limited range of prizes. First three males and females, first m and f under 18 and first m and f vet 40. Most races have more vet categories. Where is the incentive for us older runners, we still do the training and cover the distance! Other than that I enjoyed the day and will be back!

In short: Tough but worth it for the scenery!
In full: Definitely a challenging 10 miles with some hard uphills on trails, but then the downhills are great in the second half. Good finish. Friendly runners and organisers. Great refreshments for all runners as part of the reasonable entry fee (and a medal!) A good day! Worth the trip, glad the weather was dry!

In short: Challenging first half, worth turning up for!
In full: My first time at this race. Very friendly! Tough first part, lots of climbing, fab views at the top! Speedy second half with a lap of the field to finish. Great atmosphere! Will be back next year and try to improve my time for the first half of the race, second half was very speedy!

In short: A must-do event!
In full: Love this race. Fabulous atmosphere. Friendly. Gorgeous scenery. Challenging in parts but still chance to do a fast time (I ran a Pb this year!). The cakes at the end make this one worth turning out for as well. Just do it!

In short: Worth the trip!
In full: First time I have done this one. Also first 5 miles - a different mind set needed than for a 10k I think. I liked the course and the distance. It was good starting and finishing on the karting track - a change from a muddy field! Well marshalled. I'll be back!

In short: Challenging hills but worth the effort!
In full: Well organised, friendly. Support along the way. Definitely not a stroll in the park but a good one to do if you need to get some hill training in! As I run in Sheffield this one suited me fine!
