In short: Hilly in places but fun
In full: This is a great local Bank Holiday race. Entry on the day. It's a 10 mile race and a 5 mile fun run. Only around 40 entrants for the 10 miler but plenty of local support. 10 miler is 2 laps of the 5 mile course. Several sharpish hills but also matching downhills! Seemed to be water and sponge stations at about every mile! Certificate for finishing and tea and cake in the church hall afterwards.

In short: Great course and excellent organisation
In full: This is a great winter race. Bit warmer would have been better for post race mingling but this was one of the best organised races I have done despite no HQ. Race about half a mile from parking but along busy roads so two double decker Buses shuttled people to and from and I stepped straight on both ways. Baggage was a dream. Handed bag over 5 mins before and it was dug out by helpful volunteer as I was walking back to the van and handed straight back - no waiting at all. V grateful given the temperature! Course was fun - hills made up for by down hill and marshals and locals were great - so cheerful and supportive. Drinks stations plentiful and well manned and including energy drink. Lovely clear finish. Would do this next year and would recommend.

In short: Excellent race with great organisation
In full: Excellent race. Great HQ with showers and lockers. Marshals all very encouraging and bottled water on offer at water stations. Good flat course - bit tough into the headwind along the esplanade but still managed a PB by 2 mins. Would definitely do this again !

In short: Great race with fantastic local support
In full: First half for two years and a great experience. Marshals were excellent dealing with some tricky road junctions and local support especially the last bit through the village was really uplifting - definitely gave me a boost for the last mile or so. Good facilities - showers at the end v welcome as it was a hot day. Loved the boot bag memento. Will be very useful. One for the list for next year.

In short: Challenging X-Country race in beautiful park setting
In full: Back for my second attempt at this early season x-country race. Recovering from a nasty cold caught the previous weekend and nearly didn't do it but was glad I did. Lovely weather and hugely encouraging marshals all the way round. Definitely one for the calendar.

In short: Great course and loved the boot bag memento !
In full: My first time at this race and I really enjoyed it. This is a lovely course through Wendover and past RAF Halton with a steady downhill stretch for the last few k. Nice supportive marshals and encouraging locals. Good venue and unusual boot bag memento - will be ideal for cross shoes. Will be looking to do this next year.

In short: Well marshalled and excellent HQ
In full: I entered this race as it is only half an hour from my mum's and was really glad I did. The Leigh Sports Village is a brilliant HQ with easy parking a fantastic track to warm up on and the best toilet facilities I have ever seen at a race - no queues at all !

I have never run in the area and thought it was a lovely course - mostly on trails. The course was very well marshalled with plenty of marshals at all key points - all very enthusiastic.

I have seen that some people had issues with water but to be frank if you need water on a 10k (and I quite appreciate people do) then you should carry it with you and not rely on the organisers.

The finish along a good tarmac path was great for a final kick.

My only negative comment would be that I don't think the warm up with the dance girl was a good idea for the main race - people have carried out their own warm-up and don't want to be held up by a non-running specific warm up. A very minor quibble though and this is definitely in my calendar for next year.
